Darche or Eller for tonight?

Please tell me I’m mistaken….I caught the end of the Martin McGuire discussion this morning on CKAC and what I heard was….”Seems that Darche might be playing tonight and since Eller wasn’t used that much last game, the game time decision as far as who’s not playing, could be between Mathieu and Lars…..Anybody heard that? It can’t be true, I have to be mistaken…

I hope eller is playing. That would be ridiculous if darche is in. Eller has taken 2 penalties so far but the penguins game one was justified to stop a semi break.

I definitely hope not....wtf

On RDS it seems like there will be no other change than seeing Picard in the stands, because Harmlik is in.

WTF
screw darche. Seriously.
He doesnt need TOI to develop. Eller does.

And he didnt have much time on ice against the pens, because he was on bottom lines. I really think l'harceleur will become a good player for the habs. He needs to play. And hes the backup when AK & Pouliot are invisible on top lines

I hope not. I like having Darche on the team(I think he is a good 13th forward) but Eller needs to get his feet wet with the Habs and not be in and out of the lineup.

Don't see it happening. Maybe wishful thinking for someone. I'll cry if that happens for no good reason. I'll just cry.

Martin playing a hunch?

Darche is x-Lightning, and coming off a healthy scratch.

I'd try and get Darche in. I would remove BenPou, slot Eller to the top-6, insert Darche.

Maybe Eller simply isn't ready for the NHL yet. Darche might be older and might not have as much of a future in front of him, but if he can go out and play solid hockey without too many glaring mistakes and Eller still has a lot to learn, then I don't mind Darche playing instead. But if Darche is going to start games over Eller and Eller is going to sit in the pressbox....we should send him to Hamilton and give him more playing time until he's ready to come back up. Maybe Pacioretty should be up with the Habs instead of Eller....who knows.

This can't be serious. Darche is NOT a regular NHL player - never has been, never will.

With the way Kostitsyn and Pouliot are playing there is no reason not to play Eller.

If it comes to Eller going to Hamilton, id rather have White instead of Maxpac in the big league.

But who knows. There will be 79 other games anyway

I'm not a huge Benoit fan but seriously?

Pouliot is leading the forwards of this club in points (tied), +/- (tied), and hits (7).

Have you seen him play against the Leafs? He was one of the best forward of the team. I dont't want Darche to take Eller's place. He's already as good as him and has much more potential.

We have to keep Eller in the lineup if we want to let him develop. Man, I «always» put my trust in the coaches' decision, but this time, I'll be angry if Martin scratches him.

Did you get hit in the head in St-Louis or something along those lines?

Eller has to play a maximum of games, they didn't keep him up to have him play on and off, that's Darche's job.

Eller needs to play quality minutes in the NHL now. This is ridiculous if true.

I could see wanting to get Darche in for this game specifically (given the potential for him to be motivated). Not a permanent change to the line-up.

I would not mess with Eller, however. He played a good game, game 1. Then got sent to the 4th line. You need to be rewarded for efforts so I think he deserves another look in the top-6 (if he outplays BenPou, sobeit). If someone has to be scratched, I'd scratch BenPou.

On BenPou, I didn't know that... and numbers don't lie (I suppose)

I think BenPou has played some nice shifts, otherwise I think he's been his usual enigmatic self. The early scratch could send a message to BenPou (may be counter-productive ... it's risky).

Just setting the bar-high for inter-team competition.

If they are going to be bouncing him in and out of the lineup I think it is better for Eller to be sent down to get tons of ice time in the AHL.

CKAC says darche might play over eller...hmmmmm i wonder why THEY would come up with a wild ''rumor'' like that. I wouldn't put too much credit into what they say.

Dumbest decision if its true...Darche is a good 13th forward if someone is injured or wtv...he has no speed, no hitting skills, no fighting skills, no PK skills.

That's not setting the bar high, that's mismanaging your team.

Pouliot doesn't deserve to be scratch, not at all. Neither does Eller.

Scratching a skilled young player that is performing well so we can put a 4th line plugger is utterly ********.

I hope WS was mistaken. Darche should sit his ass out.

Eller's not going to be the 13th forward for no reason. We're coming off a win, he played okay if not better than okay. Darche is going to be the bench warmer, no question IMO.

If Martin replaces Eller with Darche, I will literally lose it.
