Not really, the last two years they've finished 19 and 20 in the league on the PP, so even with all their skill, they haven't really been all that great there.

Here's hoping the Leafs take advantage of the weakened D-core and get off to a 3-0 start!

NHL really screws up scheduling. No Leafs game on Saturday.

3-0 Would be huge!
I would be pretty pumped if we won this, but I'm cautious for now.

Well.. so far we're 2 for 2 and I've done one of these for each game... so.. here we go..

Our Father, who art in Toronto, Leaf Hockey be thy name, thy will be done, the game to be won against the cocky Penguins. Give us this day, let Malkin have an off game, forgive Crosby his whining, as we cheer Tim Brent, the local boy living his dream. Lead us not into a wide open game, but deliver us to victory, in the name of the Holy Mackinaw and the 50 Mission Cap. Amen.

It's not that the Pens powerplay looks terrible. It actually looks better this year compared to years past. They're switching it up all over the place and have great movement.

The problem with the Pens PP is that they don't shoot the damn puck. They are content to pass the puck around 20 times looking for the perfect pass for a tap in without getting it on net.

Before this season, the Pens PP was very predictable with the umbrella and shot coming from Gonchar or a one timer from Malkin. Now everyone moves around and just plays keep-away from the PKers

Very true. I watched their game against NJ and the PP looked, dare I say it, even worse than ours at the end of last year.

Goligoski, Letestu and to a lesser extent Tagradi, were the players that seemed to have a strong game for them and Johnson was good in net. Their forum expects Flower to start for them. Crosby looked hungry but had no finish.

Expectations for this game are not that high. As long as they play hard, and the game is not a blowout, I'll be content.

Is there any rivalry with the Pens?

I hope that the Leafs will come out flying in this game and put the pressure on the Pens. There is no pressure on the Leafs. All of the pressure is on the Pens to win their first game at home.

Crosby + Malkin = tough game, period. Hoping for a win, but it's definitely not gonna be easy, especially with their 1st game in their new building, the crowd should be really into it. Logic says Leafs lose, heart says Leafs win!

Another win by the leafs. Book it.

On a side note, anyone know how often people come around to check in you're in the right seats at the Marlies game? My friend and I are thinking fan zone 10 dollar tickets then moving to a better seat

It would be a pretty sweet start to the season if the Leafs were to go 3 and 0 vs. my three least favorite teams. I'm going to have my Leafs shirt on all day down here in Pittsburgh, and be talking as much trash as possible to all the Penguins "fans". Hopefully the guys come through with a W

I'd like them to keep Jiggy in this one and let Gus play against NYR

There's a very promising statistic listed up there, but I'm not going to say it.
