Well the Rangers have Darvish for sure now at least.

Fielder would be fun, but I'm a fan of Moreland also and I think he'll have a better season than he did last year so either way they go I'll be fine with.

Having Fielder sign as well would really help against the Angels. Sure would be nice.

If we give up the farm for anyone, it better be for someone like Felix Hernandez or Clayton Kershaw.

How about letting the farm do what it's been doing? The Rangers have the kind of riches in terms of quality prospects that the Stars could only dream of. Stay the course and good things will continue to come. Pujols has three or four more great years in him and they paid a lot of money to put C.J. at the back of their rotation.

Send a message via ICQ to ginblossoms
count me in as one who'd rather not bring in fielder. moreland with a healthy wrist at half a million is more value than fielder at $20+ million.

The guys here for the Round Rock Express are saying that we have the funds and are actively pursuing Fielder. Just some guys for the farm team but it's something.

WFAA 8 supposedly reported that Fielder to Texas was a done deal which is obviously B.S. Local Media is ******** sometimes. Yu only makes 5.5 the first year which either means we are cash strapped or are trying to keep it down to fit other pieces

I think they find a way to fit Fielder. It's obvious both sides want each other.

As long as they keep any deal for Fielder under 6 years I'd be cool with having him. I just can't trust that the guy doesn't blow up like Professor Klump before too long.

Agreed. Also kind of worried about keeping Josh with his injury history. Everybody knows what he can do healthy, but will he stay healthy? Doubt it.

I'd rather have Fielder for the next 7 or so years than Josh. Hamilton is truly great, but there's no way his body can become more durable than it has been.

Detroit signs Fielder, 214 million over 9 years. For that price and term, they can have him.

Have to think the Victor Martinez situation pressed their hand a bit.

It's sad that he trusted the wrong people to end up that way. I always liked him.

I don't really like these rumblings about trading Uehara. I think he's in store for a bounce-back year once he gets comfortable here. He was damn good in Baltimore and it's not like that's a pitcher's park. Right now the bullpen looks pretty impressive but subtract him and all of a sudden you've got some questions.

I'd also like to bring back Gonzalez, don't know what the holdup is there. We need a lefty.

Lefty is a definite need. Uehara was going to be traded to TO but they were on his 6 team list so not just rumblings

Nice to get Elvis under contract. No need for any complications until the ultimate Boras free agent showdown.
