The win was their only against Montreal over the last five years of the Seals' existence. They were 8-32-8 lifetime against the Habs and actually had a winning record at 3-2-1 in 1968-69. I did a quick check of that season and the Seals had a win and a tie in The Forum that year, so they had at least one other win on the Canadiens' home ice.
Hey! Remember that game in '72 when the Habs came in and outshot them 45-27, yet trailed 2-0 until the third and the Roadrunner scored twice to tie it. Meloche got a huge ovation, after Yvan's first goal. Probably the only time in league history that a home team goalie got a Big O AFTER giving up a goal!
