Derek Stepan Appreciation Thread

Ok, here's the deal. If the kid doesn't score a hat trick by the end of the second period, Torts should just bench him in the third. And he better keep this pace up the rest of the season if he wants to stay in the NHL. If he scores 164 goals this year, the Rangers might actually be watchable again.

... And to think, everyone was mad when Sather drafted Stepan.

Gaborik needs to take lessons from Stepan on how to score... and how to be cool under pressure like an 8 year veteran.

Let's be honest, most of us would do that too if we were close enough to Stepan. He's making Del Zotto's start to last season look disgusting in comparison.

I remember being perplexed when we drafted him and I learned that his favorite movie was "High School Musical" and his hobby was tap dancing.

I offer my apologies . . . from now on, just draft tap dancers.

His composure is ridiculous. He seems to be in all the right spots and is really smart out there. Unbelievable!!!

This is true for the fact that he is on pace for 369 goals for the season (3 goals in 2 periods times 82 full games).

That is not true when it comes to him forgetting that he should be nervous and scared in his first NHL game. He should be afraid to pass, not in position to shoot, the whole deal.

Someone send him a text message to remind him that he's not a 10-year pro playing in mid-season form.

Oilers fan here. Every year when my friends and I do our hockey pool, we're supposed to pick one rookie I felt like I was taking a pretty big risk taking Stepan this year with some of the other names out there (including, y'know, those three guys who play for my team). But I've been whooping it up tonight every time he scores. PLEASE KEEP THIS UP, DUB-STEP!

Damn... our centers look good. Now Christ scored, and Dubi is center-capable too. Who would've thought. Who'd have thunk?

.... Damn, can't believe Step didn't score there. I mean, if he can't even score 4 goals in one game, what use is he?

Sorry guys, I'm late to the conversation.

I was busy cleaning all the goo off myself, couch, & coffee table.

Great game by Stepan. Luvin it.

Dubi/Ani/Cally lookin good too. Gabby/EC/Fro is what it is. Talk about scoring depth if Step's can keep up the inspiring play and give us a 3rd line not to be over looked by other teams. As much as we all wanna see Step's on the #1 line, this kind of play can sure help open the ice for the top line if #2 & #3 can score too.

Ooooo, almost
