So much for Tampa's "laughable" defense

Sorry. Let me correct this: Martin coached a bad game.

- The guy has to understand Cammalleri is his go-to guy along with Plekanec. Honestly.
- As for Gionta, it's only 3 games in, but it's fairly worrying if you ask me. The guy can't win his battles anymore, he's not as efficient on the backcheck neither.
- Subban didn't have his best game, was to be predicted.

As for the others, we still have to play better. The 2nd line MUST get going. Eller must have more playing time. And the d-men have to be better.

Good: Carey Price is putting his bashers in their place.
Bad: That was a fustrating game, Montreal had the win. The Boyd trip was more of an interference, but wtv, if you're going to call a weak penalty on Subban, keep it consistent. There many more opportunities for the Lightning to get penalties even after they tied the game but the refs just closed their eyes, pretty ridiculous.

Apparently, whoever scores the game winning goal in OT automatically gets the 1st star.

D is too slow. Taken over by Tampas forwards in our own end. Spacek is AHL material, no gas left in his tank, his weak clear and lazy play causes the 2-2 goal. The team needs to rid themselves of Gill and Spacek. Hamrlik played great despite limited ice time.

Price is awesome. But when the D hangs him out to dry, we're going to lose hockey games.

It wasn't a trip. That call on Subban was ridiculous, though.

The team ****ed themselves, the reffing was brutal but the way they came out in the second after being up 2-0 was absolutely embarassing and the game wouldn't of been close if it wasn't for Price.

Again, the new system is made so a OT winner goes as the first star. Automatically.

That was a good non call. As much as the reffs screwed the Habs on that Subban call....the team still sucked. You shouldn't need to rely on reffing to win.

Except for the first goal where no Habs D were around, why were they all on the ice the rest of the time?

Lame call against PK but Boyd was not tripped on the tying goal. Stick hook is all it was

It's going to be a tough season if Price has to make 45 saves to get a win

You obviously didnt watch the same game as I did. Eller was deserving to be out there, He played like a beast. I'm not saying that I expect Eller to be a Force, but Eller with Gionta would have been good.

And Subban, well, yeah.

We're 1-1-1, but look on the bright side, at this point last year 1/3 our defence was out with long term injuries.

What makes me happy so far Price, Pouliot and Andrei are giving their detractors little to talk about.

Good game from Pleks as well and hammer considering he just came back. Love our bottom 6.

What a brutal call on PK. WTF? They were letting worse go throughout the 3rd and that's what they call with 2 minutes left? Plus, the non-call on a trip on Boyd by Malone right in front of our net.

Habs PP was awful. We need Marky back. Spacek can't make an offensive pass to save his life or hit the net.

AK needs to sharpen his skates. He played well but he sure fell a lot in the 3rd when he tried to turn and wheel away with the puck. It cost us a couple of offensive break-outs.

Pouliot: seriously you should've got a goal in this game with some of those chances you got.

Pissed off.

Seriously, the habs have a lot of blame to take for how it turned out, but with the last 7-8 min of the game I can't help but feel extremely bitter against the refs. They called a lot of pretty weak penalties on the Habs while letting SO MANY obvious ones go without calling on Tampa that I just can't really quite get over blaming it on the refs. I usually tried not to, but for now... screw you refs.

It touches Boyd's stick first but then the guy still follows through towards the skates. It could totally have gone that way as well. They closed their eyes on that one, they should have done it for PK.

Outshot 46-27 in the game, 36-26 at even-strength. Tampa probably dominated in the scoring chances too but I guess that's something to look forward seeing tomorrow. Brutal game.

They weren't that great. Made a lot of mistakes. 3 goals on average per game allowed. Habs had many good scoring opportunities.

And that's with the Habs missing one of it's best offensive player.

I remember reading they(habs) would automatically give the first star to a guy who scores in overtime...bypassing whatever the voting earlier was.

Wow that sucked.

Cammalleri needs to stop getting frustrated any time somebody gets close to him.
Lapierre needs to watch what he's doing.
Subban needs to start realizing that he is NOT Bobby freakin Orr.
Gomez and Gionta need to start playing some hockey.

Bad, bad game...

Martin's system is going to kill us -- collapse back in on the goalie and hang on for dear life. Gionta and Gomez haven't started, true, but they will. It's the shot-on-goal discrepancy that won't change, and will kill. God, hey should have hired Boucher, kicked Martin upstairs-- that's what Sam Pollock would have done. It's what he did do with Claude Ruel-Al Macneil for Scotty B.

Shame about the last goal. Leaves a sour taste to a very solid effort by Price. Forwards decent, defense less so. Refs sure didn't do any favors for us tonight.

Overall, glad to have the point. Going forward we need to work on clearing the zone, too many people already thinking about scoring when the puck hadn't cleared out defensive blue line.
