Sorry. Let me correct this: Martin coached a bad game.
- The guy has to understand Cammalleri is his go-to guy along with Plekanec. Honestly.
- As for Gionta, it's only 3 games in, but it's fairly worrying if you ask me. The guy can't win his battles anymore, he's not as efficient on the backcheck neither.
- Subban didn't have his best game, was to be predicted.
As for the others, we still have to play better. The 2nd line MUST get going. Eller must have more playing time. And the d-men have to be better.
Good: Carey Price is putting his bashers in their place.
Bad: That was a fustrating game, Montreal had the win. The Boyd trip was more of an interference, but wtv, if you're going to call a weak penalty on Subban, keep it consistent. There many more opportunities for the Lightning to get penalties even after they tied the game but the refs just closed their eyes, pretty ridiculous.
D is too slow. Taken over by Tampas forwards in our own end. Spacek is AHL material, no gas left in his tank, his weak clear and lazy play causes the 2-2 goal. The team needs to rid themselves of Gill and Spacek. Hamrlik played great despite limited ice time.
Price is awesome. But when the D hangs him out to dry, we're going to lose hockey games.
so you expect Eller to be a force in OT when he's a rookie and you also expect Subban to not play like what he is?
You obviously didnt watch the same game as I did. Eller was deserving to be out there, He played like a beast. I'm not saying that I expect Eller to be a Force, but Eller with Gionta would have been good.
Seriously, the habs have a lot of blame to take for how it turned out, but with the last 7-8 min of the game I can't help but feel extremely bitter against the refs. They called a lot of pretty weak penalties on the Habs while letting SO MANY obvious ones go without calling on Tampa that I just can't really quite get over blaming it on the refs. I usually tried not to, but for now... screw you refs.
That wasn't a trip. God you guys need to actually watch the game.
It touches Boyd's stick first but then the guy still follows through towards the skates. It could totally have gone that way as well. They closed their eyes on that one, they should have done it for PK.
Cammalleri needs to stop getting frustrated any time somebody gets close to him.
Lapierre needs to watch what he's doing.
Subban needs to start realizing that he is NOT Bobby freakin Orr.
Gomez and Gionta need to start playing some hockey.
Martin's system is going to kill us -- collapse back in on the goalie and hang on for dear life. Gionta and Gomez haven't started, true, but they will. It's the shot-on-goal discrepancy that won't change, and will kill. God, hey should have hired Boucher, kicked Martin upstairs-- that's what Sam Pollock would have done. It's what he did do with Claude Ruel-Al Macneil for Scotty B.
