Stars/Habs sign deal

Today the Dallas Stars and Montreal Canadiens agreed to a one year deal for Dallas to send up to 6 players to the Hamilton Bulldogs of the AHL. It is expected that Dallas will send one goalie. Having Doug Jarvis as coach of Hamilton, and Carbo in Dallas might have helped this deal get done.

Any ideas as to who you guys might send? I know we are short on defensemen for next year from the looks of it.

He's headed to the QMJHL, I believe it's arleady be set up. Although I would have liked to see him there.

Lessard would be fun to see though.

Others if they do not make the stars are Macmillan and Jancevski, Solid ahlers if not NHLers. Bararuk , smallish winger with ability, Justin Cox 3rd line guy and Miets, Tjarnqvist Lessard if they do not make the stars. Smith, Ellis and Bacashuia are the goalies and one will back up Turco and one in Hamilton one in Houston. Also David Oliver is an organizational favorite who goes back and forth as depth. Marius holtet was signed but he even play in the EChl. I think if the labor situation were better you would have seen 1 or 2 more Euros possibly Lundqvist or Khomitski.

Nickerson may be in the AHL. The Stars pretty much said he has to earn an AHL spot at whichever AHL camp he's at or play juniors. Nothing's certain yet.

Anybody know what's up with Crombeen? Any chance he will sign a contract?

I leave Crombeen in the OHL for another year. See what he can do in his last year and then re-evaluate him after that.

I'm pretty sure that Crombeen has to play in the O one more year even if he's signed.

I'd like to see Nickerson in Hamilton if the stars want to send him there. I'd love to see Lessard too, we have a lot of French speaking players in Hamilton, he'll feel right at home!

I still don't understand why we are taking on a goalie, it makes little sense since we just got Yann Danis, and JF Damphousse had a solid year. I just hope they don't go with the 3 goalie system they used the year before with Garon, Conklin and Fichaud, but it was effective.

Hamilton could be short on defensemen from the looks of it, but if there's an NHL season, a few forward spots should open up. It's going to be interesting either way.
