The Six reasons why The Leafs are an undefeated juggernaut

1) Clarke MacArthur
2) The top line
3) Special Teams
4) "a grand conspiracy"

We'll regret comments like this when Kessel is in the middle of a 15 game goal scoring drought and Seguin is still putting in solid performances as a rookie.

I'm totally happy with MacArthur...but I think his Grabbo deserves props because he's been the recipient of a lot of nice plays

I think Sjostrom-Brent-Armstrong line deserves alot of credit.

And the defense is playing like it should.

Its Toronto. People freak out when we give up a goal when we are up 6-0.

I'm worried about the same thing too, but you know what, if the situation were reversed we would never hear the end of it so we may as well get our digs in while the getting's good.

I think Bozak singing Justin Bieber before every game has really helped pump the team up. I hear he and Versteeg are collaberating on a cover of the following track:

(don't listen if you have good hearing, or don't like cheesy soft rap)

The comment is actually stated in the article. If you (anyone) read the full article it's more of humor article. The author even says we'll go 82-0.

I agree though, that the comment said in seriousness is stupid. As a side note though, I strongly doubt Kessel will go 15 games without scoring.

Versteeg. He helps every single part of our game. The PP, PK, our top six, scoring, defence, depth. I had no idea the guy was this complete.

Difference in goals for and against. +7; leads the league. This is a very crucial stat to making the playoffs.

Funny read.

Thanks for posting it.

Personally, I think it's residual energy from our best unsung hero, who was traded before his time.

[QUOTE=dcervi;28348760]1) Clarke MacArthur

3) Special Teams
4) "a grand conspiracy"
5) Clutch Goaltending
6) Revamped Roster

Top line has been on fire (Bozak/Kessel that is), Versteeg has at best been average.

Powerplay has been god awful, but our PK has been excellent.

Giguere has been solid

Solid effort from our bottom 6

Above all else though teams that are "supposed" to be better then us are ******** the bed so far (NJ, Pittsburgh, Buffalo etc).

We have a winner.

MacArthur's been great but Grabo and Kulemin are driving that line. MacArthur just benefits from their work, imo.

Versteeg's been average at best? I would say he's been average at least! Yeah he's not scoring goals, but he's playing very well defensively, on the PK, he's been creating chances 5 on 5 and the PP with his speed, puck-handling etc.

The PP also has not been god awful, the players are just trying to get to pretty, but the movement is good, there have also been 2 or 3 times where they scored right after a PP has ended because they were able to maintain control.

I'd agree with all of the above, except the clutch goaltending and the conspiracy thing. I think we've won inspite of the goaltending. I know Jiggy made some nice timely saves but he also let in some Toskala like goals, as did the monster. Goalies haven't stole a game for us yet.

Giggy's second goal against Boyle yesterday was astoundingly awful but I don't think Monster had a goal that made me grimace. Yeah, his numbers weren't fantastic but I don't remember faulting him specifically for a goal. I actually remember him making several game saving leg saves.

The actual 6 reasons....

1) They've taken the beginning of the season very seriously, and have had almost the entire team show up every night and are constantly outskating their opponents. They are playing with end-of-season urgency while most teams they are facing have not been.

2) Tomas Kaberle + Luke Schenn are playing unbelievable.

3) They've faced 3 teams who've been very shorthanded (Montreal -- Cammaleri, Markov, Hamrlik....Pittsburgh -- Staal, Orpik, Michalek....New York -- Drury + Gaborik) and 1 team that forgot they were playing.

4) They've stayed injury free.

5) Their goaltending has been very good when the game is on the line (the rest of the time not so much).

6) They've had unexpected offensive contributions from Clarke MacArthur.

Considering last year's mess between the pipes, I'll settle for average goaltending, which is pretty much what we're getting.

BTW, posters need to understand that the article the OP posted a link to, is written "tongue and cheek". Not to be taken too seriously. It's just a light read.

They've both been alright / average all I meant was they weren't clutch, we didn't win because of great goaltending.

Your seriously comparing Kessel and Seguin today. Give it a few years and you'll likely feel much different.
