I have to ask this question with a serious overtone to it. The guy is a very good goalie. He is far from great but better then 85% of the goalies in the league. The face of the Rangers and even has his face on a bus. The guy keeps them in most games even when he gives up 1 soft goal a game. Ok this leads me to my question no other team in the league allows there goalie to get run into bumped or pushed into the net like the Rangers do. not one player stands up for him no defensemen not a goon not Dubinski no one fights for Hank. So there most be a reason. Please someone let me know what it can be cause I am so frustrated that the next time he gets hit i might jump on the ice and kick some A@@ and protect hank
Quotes like, "He is far from great" show how many grains of salt we should need for this argument. Truckloads and truckloads.

It boggles my mind to see the lack of response from the Rangers after Henrik gets run. Again tonight, Quincey plows into him and no one gives him as much as a shove. You would think there would have been a mandate from the front office by now about this. Considering how important Henrik is to the team. I just don't get it.

A number of teams are the same way. Teams are too worried about getting retaliation penalties since anything and everything is called these days.

Why do u think I hate him? I never said I did. Just cause I fail to think he is elite doesn't mean I hate him. I made money with him and a lot of money for him. I have nothing personal against him either. He gives up a lot of weak goals and trust me he stops a lot. I am even getting worked up over torts allowing the bumping. MDZ jumped someone finally tonight and stood up for his team but not Hank why??
The Rangers don't stand up for Gaborik either, so I guess they hate him too.
Lundqvist is the one who should hate his teammates. Year after year, they rely on him to bail them out. He has faced an average of 35 shots per game so far this season. He deserves better.

A big part of this problem is that some of the hits like we saw tonight on the goalie should be a penalty IMO. The second(i believe) time Hank got hit this game it was a legitimate charge into his chest while he had the puck stopped. That way we have situations like way early in the game, where MDZ stood up for Girardi and it led to 4v4.
Who gives a damn? If anything, it's the other way around. I love Henrik, and he must have the patience of a saint to put up with the three ring circus that this team is. I'm shocked he hasn't demanded a trade yet.

The day Hank leaves NYC is the day we really do become the Adam Larsson club, Gaborik or not.
I didn't see Henke get run tonight.. One of our defenseman dove and made contact with the Avs player as he's driving to the net and that's why he went sliding into Lundqvist... What's the big deal?

I agree Jon, but at some point you have to send a message that you will protect your net regardless of the consequences. There needs to be some type of response.
Especially early in the season. I think it is up to the coach to give his guys the leash to react this way. If someone runs into Henrik and Girardi jumps him and gets 17 mins. Then gets benched for the next game it is on the coach for creating a culture where players are afraid to respond.

What your saying is correct but we can't rely on the refs to protect our goalie for us. When Charles Bronson's family was attacked in Death Wish did he wait for the police to resolve the issue? No, he bought a gun, put on a really tight members only jacket and started killing everything.
I would love to know how much money u made for Lundqvist? That sounds so silly. And yes I know you have a bar or something and do promo's or whatever. I think it might be the other way around. I needed a good laugh after watching tonights game.
Could it possible have something to do with Torts? I say this because in the years Renney era, I can't remember (off the top of my head) any occasions where the players either didn't stand up for one another or Lundqvist was run into like he has been.
I think what Dagoon was trying to say was far from great meaning all time, not in the league today, he even went on to say he's better than 85% of all keepers.
I personally think he's #4 in the league.
I personally don't think he's better than Richter if Rickey could have stayed healthy. He's no Hasek or Roy, that's for sure but he sure as hell is a top 5 keeper since his rookie year. I love the dude but you guys are just jumping on Dagoon for no other reason.
Ya have to wonder I guess. He gets run all the time and yet no one wants to jump in. If I am Torts I say the next time he gets run and no one does anything I will sit you for a game and call-up someone who will protect our teams best and most important player. Its as simple as that.
I think it may be a "culture" thing. At some point, the team started to get into a rut (The year Drury and Gomez were signed?) and got less and less responsive to Hank-running. New players then follow the crowd and get into the same kind of rut. And on and on it goes, and it takes the coach or some such to change the culture around. That is, you need to make a conscious decision to stop it.
Great all-time or great now? Those are 2 different things. He is a great goalie in the league right now but all-time he has a lot to prove.
he said hes far from great but better than 85% of the goalies in the league. from that statement i'm lead to beleive he's talking about in general. not just this season.

No. He's beloved by his teammates, they respect him and are awed by the work he does every game. They look up to him as well. If goalies were allowed out of the crease, he'd have a letter on his jersey. He's easily one of the leaders of the team.
