I'm gonna guess the Monster will start this game.

Wilson would want him to go up against the King.

Dominated them last game, I really don't see us losing barring any major disasters, just keep playing the way we have, and we'll be fine GO LEAFS GO!

I'd say this is the game when the nosedive starts.

Grabo/Bozak injured. Gus gets blown out (4+).

I'm still upset that we didn't get both points on Monday, but 2 points tomorrow would make me forget all about that.

lol!

I always predict the worse, I'd feel like a complete jinx if I predicted a good result and we got hammered.

I've gotten use to the egg on my face

But...I'm definitely not as optimistic as most people on this board right now.

The thing is that in the 5 games we've played, we've scored 17 goals. That is a great total. 3.4 average per game. But then you look at who has been scoring those goals.

Kessel = 5 goals
MacArthur = 5 goals

that comes to a total of 10 goals between these 2 players for about 60% of the teams total goals scored. I think it's pretty obvious neither will keep going at a gpg pace, that's just fact. So you've got the inevitable slow down of those two coming and unless our other players step it up (who have only scored 7 goals in 5 games), we're screwed.

Kulemin, Bozak, Versteeg, Grabo...they've got 2 goals between them in 5 games. That's REALLY bad. Think about it like this. We know Kessel and Clark is not going to score 82 goals each this season, so their goal pace is going to go down. If the two of them didn't start off this season so hot, and instead started playing at the pace they most likely will for the rest of the season (clark=20-30, Kes=40-50), we'd likely have a losing record right now.

So the 4 players I named above MUST offset the goals slowdown that Kessel and Clark will eventually have. I'm really not sure they can do that. I know a lot of people are high on Bozak, but I think the max he'll get is 50 points, with only MAYBE 15 goals. He's not a goal scorer at all people. And Kulemin...I found it funny how people were automatically projecting 25+ from him this season. What did he score in his 2 NHL seasons? I think predicting 20 in total from him is good (he might not even reach that). Grabo is just a mystery. And I think Versteeg is going to be the X factor. I think he has the tools to score 30 goals, and we are going to need him to produce more then he has if we're going to keep winning games.
Kulemin and Versteeg are the guys that need to step up. I love the work ethic of both of them, but at some point they have to start hitting the score sheet.

Same here I don't think I've been as anxious for a game since opening night. I want the taste of that loss out of my mouth. This game can't come soon enough.

With Gaborik out I think we have a decent chance of taking this game. It will be a battle though as the Rangers don't give up, but if Kessel can continue to play like he is and we recieve solid goaltending we will be fine.

I would be very very disappointed if we don't win this one. We were better than the Rangers in New York and now we are at home and they are without their star player.

good teams win these games. no exceptions.

Yeah it was kind of cat and mouse.

When Orr wanted to go, the Rags were up and it didnt make sense for Boogard to drop em.

When Boogie wanted to go the Leafs had all the momentum so Orr didnt need to rally the troops.

Versteeg has stepped up fine, bounces not going his way. He'll be fine. I'm just worried about Kulies production if kept on a line with Grabo and Clark. Grabo is just a black hole and McArthur is pretty useless unless he gets fed the puck in a goalscoring position. I really think the Leafs need to ship out Grabo for a decent 2nd line center.
