Who Should Start in Boston on Sat? (read first)

Heads up, we play the night after vs the Devils at MSG.

Do you play Hank back to back? I would never have objected to this BUT Biron played fantastic. I wouldnt mind seeing him on Saturday in Boston after the game he played.

Lundvist playing vs the Devils is a no brainer since he plays his best vs them, and on home ice, he has to be in net the next night.

This is a pretty tough decision in my books because Lundqvist also usually plays very well @ Boston.

I will slightly lean toward Biron getting the start in the end since i'd rather see Lundqvist work load go down a tad and I think its a good chance to keep riding Biron for another game.

Biron 100%.

No question given that it's the beginning of a back-to-back series. Biron played well enough to earn one of the back-to-back games, and Boston is the logical choice.

Hank, back to back and then Biron at home against the Thrashers on Weds. I may be wrong but I don't think Hanks record is very strong against the Thrashers at home during the regular season. Plus you get Biron in net for a home game.

Hank has great numbers in Boston and against the Devils.

Theres another back to back the following Thursday and Friday with the Canes and the Leafs. Play Hank at home against the Canes and then maybe go right back to Biron again up in Toronto where he just played well.

Theres also another back to back on the 4th and 5th of Nov, so we might be seeing a lot of Biron the next few weeks. Let the King play the weekend.

Bos vs NYR is always a low scoring contest so i'm thinking let hank get focused in that game and carry over into the NJ game while NJ is having troubles right now then play Biron vs ATL.

I think the coaching staff is gonna stick to the schedule regardless of performance.

I think it is already set in stone that Hank plays both, but I could be wrong.

I think if we don't win the first one, we may see Biron in the second game of the back to back.

Please let it be Lundqvist, the only other game I went to see him, he was injured. Don't make me watch the backup again, please!

Hank

vs. Boston - 13-4-2, 1.39, .951 and 4 shutouts.
vs. Devils - 18-7-5, 1.92, .933 and 4 shutouts.
vs. Atlanta - 6-3-6, 2.17, .917 and 1 shutout.

Decent all around, but I'd give Biron the nod against Atlanta, after what will probably be an emotional back to back on the weekend.

Tortorella commented in the pregame interview that Lundqvist is going to play in Boston.

The team in front of Biron tonight actually looked coached, while Lundqvist has generally had a slopfest in front of him this season. Biron had a good game. ONE game. Lundqvist has been one of the best in the league his entire career. I start Lundqvist every chance I can, without wearing him into the ground. My 2 cents.

I knew that he had a great record against the Devils, but that Sv% against Boston is phenominal! And it's not such a small sample size, 19 games are quite a few.

I'd rather let Biron run with it into Boston just to see what he can really do, but it's hard to ignore Hank's #'s against them and New Jersey.

I'm surprised that no one opened a "Trade Lundqvist NOW" thread after Biron's great performance last night...

Tough call for this weekend, I don't know except that I want Lundqvist to play on Sunday obviously.

Remember the "Prince Chad" thread? Now he can't stop a puck in Hartford.

I voted Biron, but I have no problem with Hank playing the back-to-back if Biron starts in Atlanta Wednesday. These clusters of games are exactly the right time to insulate your starter and get him a little rest. So if you pad the B2B with two starts by Biron, that strategy works for me.

Came here to post the same thing. For those who saw it, torts seemed positive that Lundy goes in Boston due to his past performances.

It also seems that they (management) are very set on giving Biron playing time, Torts said something like, just because we are struggling right now, I won't deviate from the plan, otherwise Hank will end up starting 77 games again.

Personally, I love the idea of having a well rested Hank for the stretch run, I'm loving the Biron signing more and more.

id start biron, he played great last night and we need to take advantage of every oppurtunity to rest hank but also to get as many wins as possible as we saw last year. hank deffinitally starts against the devils but i think u play biron against boston mainly because of hes stellar performance last night and then have hank as ready to go as possible for devils at home.
