Pronger Accidentally Injures Leino in Flyers' Practice

Only in Flyerdom would the bizarre appear to be normal.

So, on a day when the Flyers had a relatively light skate, Chris Pronger collided with teammate Ville Leino, knocking the Finnish winger out of the practice with a charley horse in his right leg.

Honest, we’re not kidding here. Pronger hit Leino so hard, he never returned to the ice and admitted he was concerned how it might affect his ailing hip.

“Did you kill, Leino?” Pronger was asked since no one saw Leino long after the practice had ended.

“No,” Pronger replied, his tone suggesting he didn’t want to discuss it further.

Mind you, Leino was finally looking like his old self against Anaheim on Thursday. Danny Briere’s line with Leino and Scott Hartnell has been the only line looking decent.

Now Leino is questionable for Saturday’s game against the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Lame. Hopefully it's nothing serious.

Let's hope it doesn't have the consequences of when Hexy accidentally injured Lindros in a practice.

Murphy7, you have the second sight!!

The strange part is that I took my kid tonight, and during warm-ups she asked me why the Flyers kept skating into each other. IN WARM-UPS!!! I haven't played in a few years now, but I don't remember basic warm-ups being dangerous for folks looking for skating space.
Apart from the blinding proof that this team is governed by Murphy's law, does it disturb anyone else that this team merited a "relatively light skate" one day after the half-assed effort last night?

Pronger is taking out his Finnish rage on Leino since Teemu made Pronger look like a 3rd pairing High School player on the Ducks second goal.

The thing that pisses me off is that it's so OBVIOUS Timmeh doesn't like Pronger and it shines through in his writing.

One of the college football games last weekend, the sideline reporter asked the head coach "Could you update us with the injury to (the QB)?"

Coach: "He got hit in the head so we decided to take him out as a precaution."

Sideline reporter: "So, he has a head injury?"

Coach: "Well... yeah."

I don't get that at all, I feel like he's scared ****less of Pronger. Carter and Richards, OTOH he doesn't like. The other day when they were switching around the PP units he made a comment about Richards being "kicked off" the top unit. After reading a bit more as the day progressed, it came out that Pronger was moving back to the point because his knee was stronger and he could use his slapshot now, where he couldn't when he first came back because he couldn't lean into it.

Pronger was asked what he was dressing up as for Halloween and he said "Tim Panacchio", LOL!

Leino might have also been hurt after the game last night, and this exacerbated it. He and Timonen were scheduled to appear at an event for Finnish Night, but only Timonen showed, with Leino missing for pain to be tended to.

Yeah, that Richie getting "kicked off" the PP comment pissed me off too.

Timmeh doesnt like Pronger at all. Watch some of the interviews, when Timmeh asks a dumb question, Pronger always gives him a wiseass answer.

I may be biased though, Pronger was one of my favorite players BEFORE we traded for him. When I saw we traded for him during the '09 draft, I was PUMPED. Pronger, to me, is a defenseman who I always thought would look good in Flyer orange.

Pronger just likes to skate into people. I don't think he cares who.
