I missed most of the game, how did Lewis look?

And I hope Doughty heals up soon, we need him
I guess this doesn't mean much for Hickey getting called up since Harrold is up here still and we've got Greene coming back this weekend (most likely)

Lewis did some nice skating, but was pretty invisible. The whole 4th line was, though. The top three lines did pretty well offensively tonight, so no real 4th line play. They did draw a penalty, though.

I'd be honored to be the source of bad karma to take the blame, but I'm sure that it had more to do with the stars fans that were sitting next to me (boo).

Our defense has been great defensively, but absolutely brutal moving the puck. A lot of great plays breaking up 2-on-1s or taking away the puck in the defensive zone only to turn it over in the neutral zone and give up a scoring chance.

just got back from the game.
my thoughts:
bernier soft in the first half of the game; SOLID in the second half.
jack johnson really stunk it up
richie was hitting everything and making crisp passes
anze looked great...

Too many odd-man rushes, usually because Jack was playing horribly.

Clifford is surely headed back to the OHL. Not that this is a surprise at this point. Very low intensity game played between two teams who won't play each other all year and were playing backup goaltenders, it is for the best that he didn't rough it up and make it into a more physical game, but that's detrimental to his chances of staying here.

Willie looked good.

JB put in a great third period.

PP still sucks.

A win is a win but there's work to be done. Hopefully Quick can steal us the game tomorrow because if the team plays this sloppy, they cannot win in Phoenix without that kind of performance from Quick. We haven't been getting any offense from the blueline so for that to start tomorrow would be a pleasant surprise.

that's always going to be an issue with only Doughty (and arguably Drewiske) being able to make a pass...

That's what I was expecting, but Heidi mentioned during the game that Murray said "They both [Schenn and Clifford] made the team out of camp and I expect them to still be around in February"

Not sure what the report is out of Manchester, but i wouldn't be surprised if Voynov got the call instead of Hickey. A more experienced pro and more size who seems to be fully healthy. But with Greene coming back and Harrold chompin' I also wouldn't be surprised if NO move is made.

JJ was downright awful tonight.

Loktionov outplayed Brown on that top line tonight and had an overall great game.

Yeah, she said that. I remember it, too.

Anyways,

IT CAN NOW BE SAID THAT THE KINGS HAVE OFFICIALLY THE WORST POWER PLAY IN THE ENTIRE LEAGUE! HELL YEAH! WE ARE A WHOPPING 5%!

But in other news, we have the 3rd ranked PK and defense overall. And 19th overall in total offense which is still pretty great seeing as we haven't done anything on the PP. 5-on-5 scoring has been good the last three games with 11 goals. Hopefully we can keep it up.

I actually didn't mind Brown's penalties, I mean yeah, they were penalties, but they were both mutual engagements with a Canes player and Brown just won the contact. Really, the only reason he got interference is because they went down, the Canes players were interfering with Brown.

Win's a win. Any other season, the Kings probably lose a game like this. Hope Doughty isn't down for long and comes back asap. Greene should be back soon.

A few more games like this and he'll be the new Cammy / scapegoat.

I liked what I saw of Bernier tonight. He played smart and didn't overcommit on several occasions.
Brown = brain fart last night.

Sloppy passing at times.

Line 2, (soon to be Line won) still looks good, but Ryan Smyth on the PK is agonizing. He is getting slower by the minute.

Literally seconds before Kopitar's goal I screamed "WAKE UP KOPITAR." A nice set-up from across the slot had gone right past his stick, he wasnt shooting and just wasnt sharp. From where I sat last night (low in section 111) he could've heard me. Maybe I should scream more often.

Bernier was good at times but the dropped puck from his glove that resulted in a rebound goal (I think it was the canes third) was just sloppy.

I'm thinking Loktionov is going to start producing now, and his vision is VERY good.

There are nights when everything doesnt click, but good teams have to find a way to win. WE did, and we are getting there.

4-1-0 to start. 8 out of 10 points. Lets keep racking 'em up and get 2 more tonight

edit: Oh yeah, the PP, . . . it sucks again. Where's JT to tell me the sample size is too small to make that determination yet?

I'm really starting to believe JJ believes his own hype. He needs to respect his opponents and keep it simple out there. As others have pointed out years ago he's always trying to to make the homerun play and it's hurting the team.

Brown took some dumb penalties in the 3rd and Bernier passed a real test tonight, so congrats to him and Lokti for the game winner.

Did anybody miss Schenn last night? I sure did!

No Norris for Doughty this year and maybe we can get a discount on his next contract since he is now injury prone.

I like the way you think!

I am always one of the first to come and defend JJ when the boards are using him as a whipping post, but even I was calling for TM to sit him by the 2nd period.

Bernier looked shaky at times, but he came up huge on the 2nd breakaway, and in a few crazy scuffles in front of him.

This is what I've been saying for months now. We need to trade the guy ASAP before he becomes a lost cause.
