Commodore

Thoughts on his play so far. To me he is a hard hitting d man that doesn't get caught up ice to often. The thing that I noticed is that the forwards seem to get around him quiet easily. Other than that not to bad so far.

He's definitely had some great hits, but like most of the defense, doesn't seem to have completely settled in yet. I think over the next 8 - 10 games we are going to see the d-men get more comfortable and the overall level of play will improve.

Realistically, I see him fitting into the role of the replacement for Adam Foote on the blueline. Already it appears he is quicker and more mobile than Foote, which is a definite plus. I think Foote was a little nastier clearing out the front of the net, but this is hard to assess on television so we'll see how Commodore does once the Jackets are back at home.

Didn't Commodore put $3,000 up on the CBJ board to beat the Preds Friday night? Looks like he was enjoying it

Whatever you do ... do NOT click the little bar thingie to view the full image.

I think I see a used ashtray in the lower left corner ... may be why he's usually out of position and scrambling to recover.

That's a can of Skol.

Not the reason he's always out of position but could have a little to do with the communication problems.

Frog Fling? Was this a real game? Not thinking this one would go over well with Pazzy or the other Quebecois.

Step two of making something out of nothing complete.

This is what we need to read about. Great hockey reporting.

I agree with Portz, be happy and have fun with it because you just won the lottery, but don't flaunt it by posting it on a web site, especially when you haven't proven that you deserve it yet.

I don't even think that's Commie Red in the picture. Looks more like R. Kelly.

I agree, don't post a picture like that on the web. You are a professional - act like one.

On a side note: I don't think that is even his place. Look at the curtains, they have flowers on them. I am not sure of any single guy that would have curtains like those!! So I doubt it is even his book!

I don't see him urinating on an underage woman, though.

I PMed him about omitting the FarmersOnly.com space to begin with. Never heard back.

Blue Jackets defenseman Mike Commodore wants to clear the air about the photo of him, lying on a bed covered in nothing but black briefs and $100 bills, which is circulating on the Internet. Here are the facts as Commodore explained them Tuesday morning:

No. 1 -- The photo was taken by a friend in February while Commodore was still a member of the Carolina Hurricanes.

No. 2 -- The money pictured is his winnings in from a Hurricanes' Super Bowl block pool.

No. 3 -- The photo was taken in a spare room of his Raleigh-area home.

No. 4 -- The photo was posted on a friend's web page without Commodore's knowledge several weeks ago.

No. 5 -- Commodore learned about the photo from a contact in the Ottawa Senators public relations department four days ago and called his friend and asked him to remove the photo. By then, of course, it began to spread.

I buy his explanation.

Commie may act stupid but behind every clown is a genius.

I back him also, I'd be upset with that friend though. That picture doesn't help one's PR campaign...

"This is Mike Commodore and you're listening to 1460 the FAN...now when did these guys become hockey experts?"

Just heard this promo now. Got a chuckle out of me.

He seems to be a hit with our idiot radio guys at least...I wonder if they've seen the picture.

Sheesh, give me a break. There is nothing in that picture that bothers me what so ever...granted, I don't need to see a dude in his drawyers...not that there is anything wrong with that....err, shutting up now.

Seriously folks, lighten up, this is a far cry from the craziness of the NFL/NBA.
