Draft

Here are the players that I would love us to get (being somewhat realistic):

Tukonen at #6

Wolski move up to late teens to get him

Schultz at #36

Nokelainen at #37

Soderberg at #44

Garlock at #46

Wharton at #49

Others interested in are: Seitsonen, Alexandrov, Graham, Chipchura, Stafford, Wick, Fransson, Lyamin, Dubinsky, Pinealt, Tesliuk, Meidl, Berti, Voloshenko, Hedman, Meszaros, Thelen, Korpikoski, Radulov, Valabik, Zajac, Wheeler, and Chucko.

Also would be pretty neat drafting all three of Tukonen, Nokelainen and Korpikoski.

I think Voloshenko could be a huge pick up if he falls into the 2nd round.

Prucha...I find a lot of your posts to be right on.
This post is no different.

Tukonen is my dream pick at #6.
He may not be "pro ready" but I think he has great upside and is somewhat "safe"
I think Ladd has a smaller ceiling.
Tukonen or Olesz would make me content at 6.

Agree that Wolski would be a GREAT pick in the late teens.
Note: I'm a huge Thelen fan-but that won't happen (#10-15)

I'ma fan of Valabik at 24 if he were to somehow slide there.

If we take Tukonen, wouldn't it be fantastic if we added BOTH Korpikoski AND Nokelainen?...imagine what that would do-the comfort of the trio in the same organization.

I want Wharton & Soderberg in Rd. 2

I find Prucha's posts always way off, so I don't read them.

I LOVE Tukonen at #6 and Valabik at possibly #23(if Calgary wins). I'd love to take a shot at Wheeler if he's still available with our first #2 or trade up to the bottom of the first. Overall I'm not all for trading up. I KNOW great players will fall and we will reap the rewards with lots of picks.

Brad Richards was a #3 pick wasn't he?

I said he WILL be a bust, there is a huge difference between "WILL", and "IS". I wonder if you have read/seen this guy play.

#6 - Olesz or Ladd, although Tukonen would suffice, too, as would thelen

#23/24 - Zajac, or if he falls, O'Neill, or Korpikowski

#36 - Pineault

#37 - Wheeler

#42 (?, the Edmonton pick) - Fistiric

#46 - Soderberg

#50 (?, the Montreal pick) Carson

not really, WILL and IS are of the same meaning, just one is future and the other is present tense. Essentially your saying in the future he WILL be a bust, not he has the POTENTIAL or MIGHT be a bust, but he WILL be a bust. You can't write off a prospect that easily.

And yes I have watched Tukonen, the trio line was outstanding and the energy that kid brings is amazing. His motor never stops, and he knows both ends of the ice and loves to lay the body, not to mention he's not lazy. Hmm, call me crazy but isn't that the kind of kid we've been dreaming of for NYR, a kid who knows both ends, lots of energy and loves to hit, hmm sounds good. Don't just pass him off because he's not NHL ready, that would be retarded at best

Maybe that's why you aren't a scout...

Maybe the reason I'm not a scout is because: A) I'm to young, and B) I'm busy with school.

Maybe thats why you shouldn't be making these kinds of labels on kids unless you have put the time and effort into it

I think Tukkonen is a nice player - but its not where I'd go with the #6 pick. I just think there are better options out there.

Crosby, why do you dislike Tukonen? I mean I know you want Olesz (Me too), but Tukonen I don't think would be the worst pick for us if Olesz is off the board which could very well happen. So if it goes down like this:

1-Ovechkin
2-Malkin
3-Olesz
4-Barker
5-Ladd
6- U wouldn't take Tukonen here? LW is a big need for the Rangers and has been for some time now.

so is C, and RW, and D. I mean ya we have Balej and Jessimen, but neither are far from 1st line players, a guy liek Radulov might be hard to pass up

Tukonen is not a good skater, doesn't have a scoring touch, hands are average, and he doesn't have good playmaking skills. Think of a smaller Todd Bertuzzi, with no offense. OUCH!

If the draft went the way you said, I would take Radulov, who is a vastly underrated player, and has GREAT potential.
