10/22/10 - Minnesota @ Vancouver - 9:00 PM CDT - KSTC (HD)

Short and sweet for today. Minnesota is now on a two-game winning streak and looking to extend their winning ways against a struggling and injured Canucks club. It's a late start, but hopefully all Wild fans will stand up against the menace that is Rick Rypien. You grab one of us, you grab all of...okay I can't finish that.

Anyways, here's hoping for a win *****es!

I don't have high hopes for this game. 2nd night of a back to back on the road, vs a very pissed off division rival, with our backup goalie getting his first start of the year. Hoping for win; not expecting one though.

Sort of excited to see Theodore play. Things appear to not exactly be in the Wild's favor heading in, however.

Oh well, bleep 'em.

Well, I set my DVR for hearing those classy Sportsnet's Canucks commentators.

I'd rather find a FS North stream afterall.

I have a feeling that Theodore is going to have to steal this one and that's not a good feeling to have with a new goalie.

Well, unlucky for me... I'm out of town this weekend.

You guys are going to have to let me know how Theo plays (assuming he does). It's been a while since I've payed any attention to him.

I'm hoping that we get a bit of payback in Vancouver... By that, I mean PP time. Hopefully that Nucks are irrational and ticked. And hopefully the refs actually call a fair game.

I hate to say it, but I think we're going to need to score 4 or more to win this one. But, I'll take a split on an away back to back. I'd love a win, but after the Oilers game... Lets just say I'm not exactly optimistic.

I'm going to say 4-3 Nuckers... And that hurts a bit...

I can't shake the feeling that we are lucky to have a winning record, I don't trust Backstrom at all.

That said I'm gonna say 4-2 Canucks win.

As always, and what I'll do all season, I'm predicting another Wild win. Let's make some headway in this division. 3-2 Wild win.

rational side of my brain says canucks win this--guys haven't had time to fully recover from the flu, it's the second of a back-to-back, and we played slow the last two periods of the game the night before.
Could potentially be a blowout. Theodore should be ultra motivated, but that won't mean much if the D in front of him is slug-like in their reaction times and he's being sat on all night.

doom and gloom.

The name "Wild" bugs me more than anything. I mean, they couldn't come up with anything better than that?

I was hoping for the Minnesota Blue Ox

In all seriousness though, I wanted Freeze. I'll take the Wild now.

Well the Wild seem to play a good game then a bad one, and we're due for a good one. So I would say 3-2 Wild, but I'll instead say 4-2 Vanny (empty netter) and hope the reverse mojo is working.

The team is named that because during the year they had the vote on the team name, everybody and their mom was obsessed with "Wild Thing" at Valleyfair. If that damn rollercoast didn't exist, Minnesota would probably have had a respectable team name.

They were clearly thinking of something to go with Timberwolves, but the Bruins already existed, and Chicago already had the Bears. And they already used, and lost, the Minnesota Moose.

Maybe we should have gone with some Scandinavian animal to increase our recruiting.

Sneaky Wild took a period's worth of penalties last night to make sure Brunette is well rested for tonight. He pots a pair and picks up an assist and the Wild win... 3-2.

Voyageurs and Northern Lights were both in the running. Why anything else, including Wild, was even up for consideration, I will never know, as those would both have been fantastic names.

Truthfully, all the names that I recall were pretty bad. I understand trying to get something original and state specific, but come on.

IMO, Wild is much better than anything else they came up with.

Uh oh. Stoner's playing tonight.

Barker out with a groin injury. This kid needs to start staying healthy. His play has been fine for the most part but his propensity to always be nicked is the bigger issue for me.
