Not really, though. Certainly isn't noticeable and Barker's actually been pretty mobile so far this year. Not to mention Stoner's a flat liability with the decisions he's been making.

When Barker is moving his feet he really isn't that bad of a skater. The problems is his starting steps...when he gets caught flat footed thats when he looks unbelievably slow.
[QUOTE=WildisLaw;28469662]Stoner skates better than Barker, thats for sure.[/QUOTE
not really from what i can remember. what he was doing better than Barker last year was showing effort. Preseason we saw Barker had improved (thank god) and Stoner took a huge slide. Hopefully that was "just preseason" and he uses this game to show he's back on the track toward progressing as a player. Probably won't be enough to unseat Barker or Falk but at least then we can trade someone out of our D and know we have a viable replacement.
edit: just a thought. Maybe Barkers injury isn't so bad and this is just a chance to show OTT one of the rugged defensemen Russo says they're looking for?
I have been surprised, in a bad way, by Stoner's play this year. I was very impressed with him last year. He was by far better than Scott, and looked more steady than Barker.
I know he had off-season surgery, but it really looks like he hasn't skated since last spring. Hopefully, he's gotten more comfortable in the past 4 weeks of practices.
They know just as much as we do that tonight is a big game, and we need to take advantage with this win streak and keep developing team chemistry. With that said i expect a 5-4 win wild in the shootout.
Anyway I don't really have a solid prediction because I haven't seen Theodore as a Wilds yet. Sure hoping Vancouver's frustration from Tuesday can carry over, though.

Just wondering what the starting lineup will be for the Wild tonight?

Oh and since I didn't actually take anyone's quotes from the Canucks GDT (it's hard to justify doing the same thing given Minnesota played Vancouver three days ago), here's something that would easily be up there. The quote is from there with the bold emphasis being mine.

Can't lose to rivals twice in a row again. We've given LA an inflated belief in themselves, can't do the same for Minny.

well, looks like it's official, we now have rivals.
at least it seems like Nucks fans hate Wild fan(s).
they get really defensive any time you suggest they care about us in any way. Whatever the fans want to say, the nucks/wild game had a tonne more emotion between the players than the Nucks/Hawks game. Which was incidentally the most boring hockey game i've watched in quite some time.

I only made it through the first period last night before the comfy snoozy couch monster ate me. 10 PM start for me tonight and I work at 8 AM, so this may be one for the DVR. Sorta expecting a loss anyway.
