It's like deja vu all over again.

Their glaring needs of it having been barely 16 months since winning the freaking Cup? Yeah, cry me a river.

Just bumping this so there's not 5 new ones popping up tonight.

Last year's Jackets are back. They quit when the going gets tough. No pride whatsoever.
What will it take for Howson to get fired?

I'll give Howson this last chance. Make a move happen now or pack your bags.

The only thing more premature then saying that the team was a playoff team pre-3rd jerseys? Saying that these 2 loses are how it's going to be for the rest of the season.

We're at rock bottom right now. I'm interested to see how the team responds.

I want to see some accountability shown, somewhere. The players need to know that this isn't acceptable.

Thats what its all about. Sure one or a few players would be traded. But it would show the rest of the team and the fans that they have a GM dedicated to making sure they are icing a good team capable of the playoffs.

Great point, I am interested in how the organEYEzation responds. While I would love for Howson to make a move, what we DON"T need is to make a drastic move that we will regret later. We can not be so desparate in our moves so that we screw ourselves for many years to come

They look like the Cavs on ice skates

The Cavs motto used to be: Never surrender, no matter what the odds.

The Jackets seem to surrender, no matter what the odds

If you fire Howson, IMO you have to fire everybody from Priest on down. I don't want to see us fire Howson and then handicap the new GM search by telling the potential candidates that they won't get to select who they want to coach the team like they did after DM was canned.

Wouldn't mind seeing a bit of a shakeup move from Howson. Patience has its virtues, but he showed it in abundance last season, and things only got worse. I'm of the opinion things will improve whether Howson does something or not, but now would be a good time for some type of move. Jackets have one game (a home game) in the next 4 days, but then they don't get more than 1 or 2 days off between games until the 21st.

Only reason I wouldn't want to see Howson fired is because I don't want to see a new GM move in and replace Arniel. I think he seems to be a great coach, I'd like to see him around for a while. That isn't reason enough to keep Howson, but thats my only concern.

Just as they have shown in the past, this collection of players are shrinking violets whenever they have expectations placed on them. They need to grow up - AND FAST!

How do you teach mental toughness?

So who on this team has any? Forget the talent level we need mental toughness.

I believe you can teach it to some degree. I guess a better way to put it is you can get those without a lot of mental toughness to really build up and rely on what they have. But you always need those "too dumb to know better, fight till ya die" types to lead. I don't think we have that.

Mental toughness teaches YOU... during times like this. Unfortunately, they didn't learn it from LAST December.

Sam, I think you're in the minority here. Alot of fans are getting frustrated, so it's not just me.

i think howson has actually done a pretty respectable job considering the constricting and frugal ownershiphe is working for..

a lot of this is the players.. we have a team that is capable of winning (we proved that before this awful streak). we came out hitting and playing hard for a few minutes, but a couple soft goals in the net and this team called it a night.. that's the players.

I agree, but who picks the players? The general manager.
