If the recent history is any indicator.... I'm inclined to agree with you.

I don't take these trade talks seriously. But, if there's a name on the block, my bet's on Weber, however long those odds may be.

Ta,

I really hope that Sekera isn't on the trade agenda. I hope and really think its Gragani. I think he fits the description and honestly, if he went for a pittance such as a fourth? I wouldn't give half a damn.

But not that I think Sekera turns this around tonight, but I really thought the things he's been doing well were sorely missed against Philly. Besides, with Weber back, I'd like to see more Sekera + Weber on the ice.

Connolly could be considered a puck moving defenseman if he knew how to play defense.

He certainly isn't a center.

If they would want to trade Gragnani they would show him off a bit, don't you think so? I think they are not going to do anything, as usual and end up with a rental mid-february and choke in the playoff if they make them!

He's Phil Housley with (bad) faceoff stats.

I could see it being something like Sekera for a pick. Or Butler. Both have been effective at moving the puck, albeit much like last season, Sekera's puck movement is not resulting in points. Odd.

Maybe its because nobody on our team can finish consistently.

True that. It is funny that when he pinches to keep a play alive along the wall that it keeps pressure on but so rarely do they work it out for a shot. A crisp outlet? Nah, nothing on the rush either. Oh well.

What I don't understand is why the Ducks would want a puck moving defenseman when they have Visnovsky and Fowler.

Maybe they're itching to send Fowler back to Juniors? I don't know 3 points in 6 games doesn't seem too awful for a rookie. Although he's only had points in 2 of 6 games.

Agreed. This team needs more Finnish. Koivu fits the bill.

Ahthankyou

They don't. They need some health on defense, but catching most of their games out here, they really need secondary scoring more than anything. After Ryan, Perry, Getz, and Selanne, there's not a lot here. It wouldn't shock me if the Ducks would like to unload Lupul, who's constantly injured and an underachiever. I don't see the Sabres taking back NHL players in any deal right now. We'll see.

Maybe we can offload some secondary scoring for some top line scoring?

Lord knows we have a team full of "secondary" scorers.

You're right. Adding a player for the NHL club during the season is so un-Darcy like. Heavin forbid try to make your team better before the deadline where you have to part with a 2nd round pick for a marginal player.
