Why are you guys referring to Spacek? If there's a Hab that you guys can shoot harder, it's definitely Hal Gill. I don't get how a 6'7" guy cannot even shoot 85+mph when MAB can shoot 100+mph at 5'9".

Agreed, Spacek probably has the hardest shot on the team. Too bad he rarely hits the net though.

Spacek's shot also gets blocked way too often. I swear, it seems like every time he tees it up out there it's blocked by the winger or just misses completely.
What's the point of a hard shot if you're not going to use it?

The best example is Gorges, not the hardest shot but rarely gets blocked and always gets an effective shot through the D...i love the man!
I just came out with those "nicknames" or wtv they are called : OMG (Oh my Gorges) or Oh my josh..don't hate me i'm studying for my accounting exam and i'm bored haha.
You may be right, but I've seen Spacek unleash some rockets from the point. Not quite in MAB's league, but still pretty powerful.
I agree.. I've seen him hit people in the face pretty hard.. He had a rocket of a shot. I have not watched too many full games attentively this season so it's hard for me to judge him at thins point...
Thats why i like Schneider, he always got the shot through. Even if he shot a little wide to play the rebound off the end boards. Its not all about power.
You do know that HEIGHT has nothing to do with SHOT MECHANICS or PROPER PRACTICE?
A player holding a stick is essentially a second class lever. The fulcrum is the player's shoulder and the force applied is their low hand. A taller player would have an advantage, it's just physics. You think it's just a coincidence that Chara has the hardest shot in the league?

Brett Hull is 5'10 and had a wicked snapper.
MAB is a prime example that technique is more important than size.
For sure though, two guys, same technique, the tallest/biggest/strongest one will have a harder shot.
If someone has a weak slapshot on the Habs it's Gomez, not Spacek.
He always does that slapshot when he's on a 1 on 1 and it never works. The defenseman just deflects the shot behind the net, like sometimes I question Gomez's offensive awareness when it comes to shooting. He always takes random ass shots.
