Jimmie Johnson won the Sprint Cup Championship...nothing new...move along, nothing to see here.

As for the NASCAR fans on the CBJ board (of which there are a few), Hendrick Motorsports blew up the crew chief alignment & will start over with 2011. All HMS crew chiefs not numbered Chad Knaus just got re-assigned:

24 Jeff Gordon:
2010 Crew Chief- Steve Letarte
2011 Crew Chief- Alan Gustafson

5 Mark Martin:
2010 Crew Chief- Alan Gustafson
2011 Crew Chief- Lance McGrew

88 Dale Earnhardt, Jr.:
2010 Crew Chief- Lance McGrew
2011 Crew Chief- Steve Letarte

The 24 and 88 trade places at the Hendrick Motorsports shops, with Gordon moving in with Mark Martin's shop and Jr's team in with Johnson's (the 5/88/25 and 24/48 were previously together).

This all from www.jeffgordon.com

Gordon Gee steps in it.

If TCU and BSU haven't played a tough enough schedule, then neither has OSU.

That is all.

TCU or BSU would most likely get destroyed and embarrassed if they played a top team from the SEC. I was in Hawaii when an undefeated Hawaii team faced Georgia in the Sugar Bowl. I remember all the hype from the locals on how great Hawaii was. The results were not pretty. Georgia had their way with them (41-10) and I think they even dressed some members of the band to take a few snaps in the 4th quarter. Georgia also played Boise State back in 2005 and destroyed them. This year, Virginia Tech had BSU beat and by luck, BSU was able to win at the last second. Virginia Tech went on to get beaten the next weekend by James Madison. WTF? No, I don't think TCU or BSU is in the same plane of existence as the bigger conferences.

I know all major schools have their rent-a-win games, but for Mr. Rogers to say that every Ohio State game is a barn burner is unreal. God, I got excited seeing Ohio State beat the crap out of college football powerhouse Eastern Michigan, and what a thrilling contest they played against Marshall. I'm more excited for Akron next year than I am Wisconsin or Michigan & always look forward to the games against Youngstown State and Toledo...

There's a bit of a difference, however, between one or two rent-a-wins per year, and an entire conference full of 'em. That was his point, and it's a valid one, no matter how excruciatingly poorly it was delivered.

Just turned on the Iron Bowl because I forgot it had such an early start. 21-0 Alabama just a few minutes into the 2nd quarter.

That said, Ingram just had a HUGE fumble, so maybe the Tigers/War Eagle/Scam Newtons/Whatever they are can turn around the momentum here.

Does Wisconsin or Stanford vault over TCU & Boise??? or does a non-BCS conference school finally get their chance??? This will be a huge controversy for the next 6 weeks.

I'd love to see an Oregon/Boise St. championship. Oregon has the best offense in the country, and Boise St. is for real this year.

Good to see the Jackets aren't the only Columbus-based sports teams to wear unattractive alternate jerseys this week.

Why would they mention anything at all about hockey on a national broadcast college football game?

and at the game, they flashed the OSU logo on the screen that goes around the arena, played "Hang On Sloopy" and led the crowd in an "OH - IO" cheer. I thought it was ridiculous pandering at a professional sporting event. It is insulting to the CBJ organization as well as the players and I'm an OSU fan.

I think the odds of a Columbus Blue Jackets reference during an OSU game are less than the odds of hearing that Aaron Pettrey is a former professional soccer player.

You hear it once-twice a game.

I assume you mean current OSU kicker Devin Barclay, who used to play for the Crew? Pettrey, a former OSU kicker, now plays for the Bengals.

Yeah, I meant Barclay. How I messed that up while watching the game, I have no idea.

Since the other thread got closed, I will ask this here: what does OSU have to do to get respect in Canada?

Put a little blue in their jersey, what self respecting Canadian would respect a football team without a splash of color from the local hockey team?
