Either way....it does take a deserving player out of the game. And don't give me this garbage about Bissonnette being deserving either...
Who decides who's "deserving" or not?

If it wasnt mandatory for the players that are elected play in the all star game. Do you think any of them would care enough to show up?

I'd be funny/a good idea if it was actually original.

This is just lame.

Deserving players miss out every year due the popularity contest that is the fan vote. It's a joke.

Paul is a fan favorite anyways. It's not like he's just some random grinder. He has a great personality and the fans recognize this.

Originality is the worst excuse to not have fun I've ever heard. And so many people use it. Who cares if it's original? Originality doesn't even exist anymore. Everything has been written, said and done. If you don't like it, don't participate.

I don't even think humor is the goal here. It's just cool to see people like Bissonnette get recognized for being awesome off the ice.

Who cares what he thinks about it? I thought the ASG was for the fans.

That's my only problem with it as well. I don't mind voting a fan favorite into the All-Star game, but if it's held in NC, it should be a Carolina fan-favorite. When Phoenix is stable enough to hold their own All-Star game, by all means, Biz should be there.

But in Carolina's case, it'd probably be Chad LaRose more than anything. Not to mention, in promotion of the All-Star game in general, the organization has already formed a "Vote for Chad" campaign.

Personally, I'd like to see how Babchuk's slapshot compares to Chara's in the skills competition.

What's fun about trying the exact same thing as it was done before?

The funny thing was the phenom picking up steam to nearly getting the guy in the ASG. I don't see how repeating the same thing is funny. We've all seen the story unfold before. The randomness of the movement also produced some hilarious stories. We won't get anything close to the same reaction, it's just going to be 'oh, those guys again'.

It's lame. Get over it. Some people like lame ideas. That's all.

Opposite conferences. Why not both?

I'm going to vote for him, but not because it's funny. I don't think it's funny. Did you even read my post? You didn't even address any of the points I made.

It's lame to you that an NHL player with a great personality gets voted into the All-Star game for being a fan-favorite? Must be hard to communicate while being so high up on that horse.

Voting for Bissonnette is actually 10x better than voting for Rory, Rory had no rhyme or reason to it, at least Bissonnette theres a motive behind it.

(I also like how the Montreal vote in incident is being ignored in here)

Oh, and every year around the all-star game teams purposely market and tell fans to vote for their teams players, whether they're deserving or not. Case in point, the Chad Larose video, every team does it.

Personally, I despise Adam Foote. It would in no way negatively affect me if he never made an All-Star game. But if we were collectively looking at someone to get in there as a write-in, I think all involved parties would be fine with it...and I'd be a willing participant.
Mike Komisarek got voted in, he had what 4 points?

So you've only had sex once, and then stopped doing it because there's no point doing it again?

Well, assuming you've had sex once?

He was too sensitive to being the butt end of a joke. It highlighted the fact that he wasn't a good player, and he took his career seriously.

Bissonnette is the perfect candidate for something like this. He would love it.
