What happens when Gaby/Dru/Prospal return?

I have feeling Prospal centers Gaby and Fro, the young-star line stays the same, but what happens to the final two lines? maybe a trade of some sort?

What do you guys think will happen?

We really don't have to worry about this right now. by the time they come back there will be two possibilities

A) More injuries will have popped up
B) Weaknesses will have been exposed in our starting lineup

Were riding a high right now, but don't let it fool you...i love the way this team is playing but were going to have losing streaks throughout the season and not everyone is going to keep such a high level of play thorughout the entire season

It'll be another good month and a half before Prospal comes back, so there is a decision period.

It is possible that Fedotenko gets scratched and Drury goes to third line RW

It is possible that Prospal takes Christensen's spot in the lineup and EC gets waived.

Gaborik obviously will bump Prusty down to the 4th line and move Williams out of the lineup.

All in all I see this;

Frolov-Prospal-Gaborik
Dubi-AA-Cally
Avery-Stepan-Fedotenko
Boyle-Drury-Prust

Of course it is impossible not to rule out a possible Stepan demotion if he slows down, or other injuries popping up as our other guys come back.

I hope you're not suggesting that Drury shouldn't come back?!!

Blasphemy!! Everyone knows that Capt Courageous is the heart and soul of this team!

How dare you!!

Did you see what he did in the Little League World Series?!! Come'on! We need winners like this!! And he is a winner!!

Further reason why we don't need Boogard...Prust can do his job and play a complete game.

White is the first one scratched when the next guy returns. I'm guessing Gaborik is back next, Prust returns to the 4th.

When Drury comes back, I'm scratching EC next, waiving White.

Odds are that by the time Prospal comes back, someone else will be hurt. To play devil's advocate though, I'd slot Prospal between Frolov and Gaborik, put Drury in Fedetenko's spot on the 3rd, platoon Boogaard and Fedetenko.

My order of roster "departures" and scratches:

1. Todd White (waived/traded/whatever), bringing the roster back down to the 23-player max. once the first player gets back from the IR.

2. Eric Christensen (14th forward), definitely the forward with the lowest impact playing right now (save the "3 min. man" Boogaard).

3. 13th forward...Hmmmm... Difficult. Hard to say. Time will tell.

Leave lines 2 and 3 alone, unless they get really cold.

Line 1: Frolov - Prospal - Gabs
Line 4: Boyle - Drury - Prust

If Prospal can't regain his form, put EC back in. Boogaard plays against teams that are known to goon it up.

White out, williams down, Boogard sits certain games since half the league is scared to death of him.

i'm not expecting prospal back anytime soon but when all 3 return, i think you try prospal between frolov and gaborik. and i'd try drury on stepan's rw with feds on the 4th line. boogaard in the press box unless its a game we need him

I pretty much see this lineup as well. White isn't contributing or even given a chance to contribue. I'd like to see more of the preseason brute from Boyle but he's doing well and contributing at both ends. EC is doing what he can with his limited ice time. He's a decent role player but there just isn't room for him. Boogaard is on this team - like it or not.

I wonder if Edmonton would want to take White, EC, and Gilroy for Souray and a draft pick. The cap works out to be about even but they get to free up a lot of it over the summer in White. EC and Gilroy are both serviceable players so they would be getting more for what they have to pony up for Souray anyways. Don't know about their roster limit issues. We 'solve' the log jam but in cases of injuries, we're down to Kennedy, and prospects who probably aren't ready (like MZA and Grachev) for depth. I guess we have Newbury and Williams. Weise? Byers? No clue who is doing well in HFD at the moment but that's pretty much saying we aren't playing our 4th line anymore than we play Boogaard. Can't say I'd really want to do this unless that draft pick is a 2nd (no way we'd get a 1st).

good question. Who knows though

have to happy about the lines. Frolov , Prospal, Gaborik sounds good to me. They will have too many bodies with Drury

Lets just hope they keep playing well and deal with it one at a time

Its easy when Gabby gets back first. Prust back to 4th line. White sent down

That's the lineup I see too.

If EDM would do that it would be great.

Lens flare, swamp gas, weather balloons.

Edit: Oh yeah, and when they get back, we won't have to have this discussion every week. That's what will happen.

We will have more depth. Dubinsky, Callahan and Anisimov are being relied on way too much. They will get a much needed breather when we get healthy.

I'd like to see Drury anchor a strong 4th line with Prust and maybe Fedotenko.

Bench Boogaard.

Frolov-EC-Gaborik
Dubinsky-AA-Callahan
Avery-Stepan-Prospal
Fedotenko-Drury-Prust

Boyle hasnt been that bad but we need to roll 4 lines. Torts never plays the 4th line

Prospal won't be back for awhile, and when Drury and gaborik come back I think it's safe to say we start not dressing Boogard every night, Todd White will be long gone and Jeremy Wlliams will be back in Hartford.

Why cant Boyle anchor a strong 4th line??? He would be much better than Drury in that role. This year Boyle has been noticeable in a positive manner nearly every shift hes out there. Drury is captain invisible.

By the time Prospal gets back, someone else will be hurt. It's the nature of the game. This forward depth isn't a bad thing. Assuming everyone is healthy though, we get something like this:

Frolov - Prospal - Gaborik
Dubinsky - Anisimov - Callahan
Avery - Stepan - Fedotenko
Drury - Boyle - Prust

You can roll four lines pretty easily. I like the lineup.

Ok not to be rude but do people watch the games before they post? Stepan gets sent down? Boyle gets benched? Guys they have been very good for the first part of the season. Boyle is getting PP and Pk time and the kid is getting PP time also. What is wrong with having Drury and Vinny earn their spots when they get healthy? They both are aging vets and both are either very hot or ice cold. Sit Boogy not in conference games. Did anyone else read Boston wants a piece of Dubi ? Flyers ,Bruins islanders , Leafs ,Senators , Pens , Caps are all dressing goons. Drury adds nothing other then PK specialist at this point. The kids are playing hard make the vets do the same.
