Good win

Alright, last year we won the Cup in November by beating the Pens. Now it's Chicago's turn. Hopefully our favorite goalie Marty Turco gets the start on Wednesday night. It should be a dandy!

... 2 power play goals, 12 shots on the PP for the game. 19 blocked shots, TEN of the blocked shots by forwards.

Johnson played nearly a half hour and had a great game. Williams played well, probably was the unsung hero of the game. Handzus was terrific. Handzus and Ponikarovsky have been a force on the PK since the beginning of the season, and tonight was no exception.

Kings only hit the net with 34 of their 74 shots directed at Backstrom (46%), but the Wild were even worse, only getting 22 of their 55 on net (40%).

Quick got the job done. After the two goals he gave up, he settled down and ended up having a pretty good game.

Think the problem with JJ is that he needs high pressure. Be in playing in the POs, National team, or as in this case the the #1 go to guy. Overall though I think he's maturing nicely ala Pronger (not that he'll turn into Pronger).

Johnson had four shots in seven games. 5 shots tonight.

Johnson stepped up tonight. Quick was great on the PK and bounced back from a shaky first period.

Kings score 3 in the shootout. Quick is 8-1 in shootouts on the road, but he owes his forwarda for this one tonight.

Kings played strong for 65 minutes, just some unfortunate bounces for goals against.

No props for Stoll? Goal on the PP and the SO goal to send it to the 4th round? I've heard Handzus is clutch (which he is), but the Stoll goal was more important, as the SO would have been over had Stoll not made it.

Not really, Minnesota was 0 for 3.

EDIT: 0 for 4, actually. Still not much of a dent.

Just mentioned something to that extent in the "Other Games" thread. Should be a real brawl in that division this season.

Yeah pretty much. If Minnesota had scored, it would have changed, but the number of power play opportunities on a 5 minute major is always one more than the goals scored (so if they scored 1, they would have been 1 for 2).

Weird that not a single King finished the game a positive plus/minus. Not that I am complaining Hell of an effort...

We also have the second best point total in the league with mostly even games played, good stuff.

8-2-1 = 17 points, and Kings are Media darlings
I expect a TOUGH game, even an OT LOSS in Chicago ... but we're on Track for 17 points

I thought they completely out-classed the Wild tonight. It's nice to have a team finally that you look at and know is much better than the opponent. Should have buried a couple of empty nets and were really all over them.

This head shot rule is a joke. First off, I guess we should just let guys skate to the slot/middle without fear of getting hit. Used to take stones to play this game. Secondly, this is the second time we've seen this call when the contact has been with the shoulder to the shoulder/chest, yet you have nothing for the Kronwall hit on Selanne?

Staubitz is clown shoes.
