"Looming Cap Moves" - Who leaves?

Rolston is skating again, which means that we're going back to salary cap hell soon enough.

So who's got a one-way from Newark Liberty?

The popular candidates seem to be, from both earlier and recent consensus:
-Langenbrunner
-Clarkson
-Zubrus
-Salvador
-Fraser (Once healthy)
-Rolston (Long, long shot)

Who else? How's it happen?

If there's any justice in this world, it should be Langenbrunner who goes first. Not Zubrus.

Who Leaves?

Let's see :

I'd still say that Zubrus remains at the top of the list of players getting dealt.

SORRY, SAUGUS. THERE IS NO JUSTICE.

Langs is second because of leadership(whatever that's worth these days)

Clarktard is third

And Rolston is fourth but there's no chance in hell of any GM being dumb enough to take him.

I said it before and I'll say it again. Langenbrunner should be the first one on the list cause...

1) He sucks and has been mailing it in since mid of last year and hasn't shown any kind of improvement.

2) He isn't coming back next year IMO, so might as well get something in return instead of losing him for nothing.

Devilsfanatic's departure has given us like $6M in cap space.

Hopefully Langs and Clarkson. Don't see Claekie being moved with the brand new contract though.

Honestly I wouldn't be sad to see Elias go (yes I know he has a NTC).

I'd like to see Rolston given a shot consistently in the top 6.

Don't get too greedy or the management could decide to trade you. I'm hearing the Wild board could need your skills.

As much as I'd like it to be - I don't see Langs getting moved let alone Langs AND Clarkson. That would be 2 of our RWs at the same time and you can't promote Clarkson to the 2nd line with the way he's playing right now so I guess Langs should be taking Clarkie out for drinks every night to ensure he continue to play like crap.

If only Zharkov could have gotten called up to show what he can do...

It better not be Zubrus, far too many intangibles to justify trading him.

Trading Zubrus would be one of the worst things we could do after this start. Ive stayed off the Langs Hate Wagon but with the season going by day by day im creeping towards us needing to change over the leadership on this team. Definitely not an overeaction by myself and im still not totally sold on it. Leave Zubie alone!!!!

The leadership definitely needs to be changed. And judging by his reactions in the past, you can't strip Jamie of the captaincy without him acting like a huge *****. Either way he's gone at the end of the season, so why not get something for him and give Parise the C now?

No way is Zubrus less valuable than Langenbrunner nowadays. The effort levels are night and day. And leadership? I bet Zubrus might be in line for an A if Langenbrunner is dealt. This guy plays tough defense and sets up great offensive opportunities. His only knock is that he can't finish, well Langenbrunner is doing none of those things this year. Langs has not looked the same since he lost as Captain America. His stock is only going to plummet, so let's try to sneak one past a GM. He probably will be playing much better if he goes to another setting.

i could see langs to atlanta for jims bestest friend. but itd leave a big size and hockey IQ gaping hole....along with missing leadership. i know langs might not appear to exude that now (at least to us), but its there. i just dont see him ok'ing a move to hotlanta. but who knows. maybe hes just like whatever just do it already. as for zubrus, lou is an utter FOOL if he trades him. itd be another shot in the foot.

I'd trade White and Salvador before Zubrus.

Yeah, I'm not part of the White+Salvador are unnecessary group either, I just love Zubrus that much. I'd rather trade Elias too.

I'll just say that we probably won't have to worry about Salvador until January/Febuary.

Lagenbrunner #1
Clarkson #2
Elias #3 I know, his contract and NMC, makes him very hard to move.
Salvador #4 If he ever returns.
