Gagner vs. O. Jokinen

Decent fight actually.. Highlight was Jokinen's face though.

People seem to be surprised by Gagner's willingness. He's undersized but he has some fire in him. He's good for a fight a season and almost never skates away from a scrum.

They both swung a lot, not sure how many connected. Credit to Gagner for giving up the size difference.

(Of course I'm biased. Go Sam!)

What can you say about Sam Gagner? Gotta love the heart. He'd be one of my favourites if he was a little bit better a player.

I know that Jokinen apparently went after Gagner after he'd nailed Stajan, but when did the idea ever disappear that you fight like-sized guys?

Jokinen: 6'3" 215
Gagner: 5'10" 185 (if he's lucky)

What's going on with the Flames playing so small? Meyer picks on tiny Reddox in pre-season. Glencross is chasing after another smurf, Brule, all night.

Numbers must look really good on the HockeyFights website.

You go, Cowtown toughguys.

So just because the Oilers are small, the Flames aren't allowed to ever fight them?

Well, if you're going to fight a guy 6" and 30 pounds smaller than you...

...you better win.

But neither have anything to do with the quality act of a substantially larger player jumping a smaller one in order to make a point - especially when said smaller player had walloped a player much his size.

u biased?

I figure you'd have the answer if during the game Peckham had dropped the mitts with Morrison.

A fight victory has an asterix next to it and scores a negative value in the "class department" for a player when he grabs the opportunity to jump down in weight division in order to boost his ego (or team's).

And rest assured, should Peckham wind up belting Morrison in a scrap sometime this season, I'll be the first to call him out.

Now... if only Regehr would be willing to come out from the shadows to answer for his propensity to pick on little guys...

your embarassing yourself. i know you wont listen, but its pretty obvious to everyone else that your a massive homer.

lets just say gagne didnt have to turn around and drop the gloves and compaing jokinen to peckham is just rediculous.

maybe we should get on gagne for fighting an "older" conroy last year. is that not ok too? get a grip man. i believe you should be done talking in this thread

oh, and your comment about regehr.......uhh iam pretty sure its called playing defence, pretty sure thats his job. only sad part is i dont see any of the oilers coming to the little guys aids. trust me, there isnt anyone in the league regehr is afraid of.

i cant believe your ignorance, its sad really

Jokinen didn't win the fight. That is what matters. He lost a fight to a much smaller player.

How would that be even similar? This fight was skill guy who fights once a season vs. skill guy who fights once a season, not skill guy with zero fights in his 14 year NHL career vs. regular fighting plug.

Gagner went at Jokinen. What are you even talking about?
