So since you know boston will put Chara against Kessel and he usually shuts him down why not switch up the lines to free up Kule + Bozak? Put Steeger on the first line and drop kessel in with Grabovski + Macarthur giving Kule-Bozak-Versteeg more room to operate. Reverse psychology of sorts
I don't understand why Steeger is the whipping boy. His numbers really do not reflect his play, he has had terrible luck so far. He has been creating offensive chances and when the rest of the first line got quiet he was still trying to do something and doing a decent job of it.
I also don't think Steeger is going to be scratched or that he is injured enough to miss the Bahston game. He took a pretty good shot early on that had him on the ice with his helmet knocked off for a while, and I don't remember him playing the same way he was before the shot. That may be because of beer though. A reason for him sitting out today might just be that he is trying to recover from that.
Bit of a rant there, because I do understand the reasoning for Steeger and Puti. We need a bit of size in the top 6. The first line was getting pushed around before, and the second line was last night. Plus, having some offensive ability on the 3rd with Army out will be really important against Boston, and Steeger will be able to give us that while playing the 3rd lines role.
As much as I love Brown, it makes a lot more sense to me for us to roll with this as our bottom 6:
Sjostrom - Brent - Steeger
Brown - Ziggy/Mitchell - Orr
Which ever line kulemin isnt on, will get pushed around. Kulimen is the only big body on our top 6.
Boston always plays us hard. Chara shuts down Kessel with ease because of his physical play. Boston plays stingy defense so it's hard for our other lines to keep up. Hopefully better goaltending helps us against the Bruins this year. We can't afford to lose so many divisional points.
