I could be wrong and this could be a hotsteak but this is something it seemed like they always had. It's just now they are really figuring it out and how hard this type of game they play is to stop.
A lot of us have expected Callahan and Dubinsky to assume the leadership roles on this team. The confluence of Gaborik, Prospal and Drury being out, as well as both players being ready to assume that mantle due to maturity, gave them the opportunity to assert their leadership.

was looking through some old posts (its hilarious to do BTW and i highly recomend it) and came across this doosey

props to we want cup for saying this in April

At the same time, though, I'd like to see how AA would do on a more scoring-oriented line next year (with the same premise in mind).

Dubi - AA - Cally

Provides the same toughness along the wings, with two guys who are hard on the puck, and Dubi's skills along the boards should open up some space for AA to dish the puck more than he did this year.

I would say that my hope is for AA to go 20-25-45 next year, as a reasonable expectation.
bingo...looks like he was right on the money

I can't say enough about these guys. They out-work every line they go up against. I hope they can keep it up. If it becomes something we as NYR fans can hang our hats on (if they stay somewhat consistent) we should ALL be very proud.

It's unreal how they keep the puck deep, keep the play alive and find each other. That subtle pass last night from Ani to Cally to regain possesion and the subsequent quick pass from Cally to Dubi in the slot for the put home was absolutely beautiful.

The best part is how these guys have matched against other top lines. While they're nor elite scorers like Gaborik, the fact that they're so aware defensively have made them equal to other 1st liners.

I really can't wait for them to play the Flyers, and also the Pens and Caps.

I still like the BAR line. Take your pick at which one.

I want to get back to this in 5-8 games. Teams might start finding ways to shut them down. If in 5 or so games they are still as hot as they are now we have a bona fide success.

I'm sure they will have a game or three where they are kept off the scoreboard but by staying hot I mean they will continue to assert themselves and get bigt ime chances without defensive lapses. The kool aid seems pretty darn warranted. Can't wait for gabs to click like he did last year. Combine Gabs with the way this line plays and you have a vicious 1-2 line combo of skill, good D and grit. Boyle's improvement and the play of Prust and Avery can't be overlooked either. But damn it all sems to come from the Bar.

i mentioned this breifly in the defensmen thread, but teams may start cheating their dmen in towards the net to interupt some of those quick passes to the net region that have resulted in a few goals and scoring oppritunities

the key will be if they can send the puck out to the dman in that instance and get a nice shot off from the top of the circle....that'll keep our oppoents honest and ensure that there's some good passing lanes out there

but more than anything, this line will continue to be successful as long as they hit, forecheck and skate as hard as they've been

im very curious to see how they'll handle their first 4 or 5 game stretch with no points

ACDC line is back in blue. skating on blue ice. you hooked me all night long. go down (and block some pucks). when dubi fights, it's Safe in New York City. w/ cameo appearance in a Whole Lotta Rosie.

If I didn't no better, I would think Dubi was MVP of the league with those highlights.

Gonna download that video, it's a keeper.

Can't wait for thursday's round 3, Dubi vs Richards.
Thanks, bro.

That would be Round 4, BTW.

I like this one. We'd be missing a huge opportunity if we didn't name this line something that constantly rubbed its success in the faces of those who named them a bunch of third liners.

how about we get a poll going , and settle this once and for all. Then once it is settled Torts will break up the line , spawning a new thread where we fight over that name until we settle on a new name and torts then breaks up that line,.....rinse and repeat.

And for the record i think Anisimov Centering Dubinksy and Callahan aka ACDC wins .... and i cant stand acdc.
