Getting to know your opposition: Washington Capitals Edition
-The origin of a federal district comes from Publius (aka James Madison) in Federalist Paper #43.

-"Jose can we see by LeBron's early light." Looks like the Nike "Domination" commercial was on to something.

-If this was 1810, yours truly would have lived in Washington DC. In other words, the Virginia part of DC was returned to Virginia in the 1840s as a response to slavery concerns.

-Are big Jose Theodore fans and want to see him start. Wait a minute...

-Columbia was a poetic name for the United States in the late 1700s and is why this is the District of Columbia.

-Also find Allan Walsh to be really annoying.

-Most of Washington was burned by the British in 1814 as a response to the burning of York (Toronto). Imagine if HF existed then...

-They know the Wild take lots of penalties. Guess that secret's out - can I blame Stoner?

-The Washington Capitals probably should have been discussed earlier, but I'm a history nerd and DC has a lot of nice stuff to talk about. As it is, the Capitals once played in the Patrick Division.

-Enjoy Matt Hendricks. There's your Minnesota connection for the day as my other Matt Hendricks story is not allowed based upon the rules of this message board.

-Have the record for the worst NHL season in history.

-Like that Neuvirth is starting enough where there's gambling metaphors being used.

-Played in the Easter Epic

-Are mourning John Carlson's leg. At least he's putting up an effort though.

-Citizens were not able to vote in Presidential elections until the passage of the Twenty-Third Amendment. Have to love that little quirk of no taxation without representation.

-"This is Pure Snow!!!! You know the Street value of this Mountaintop?" I don't know what that means, but it's funny enough to put down.

-Have a really crappy highway system. Metro's not bad, but god damn trying to get out of DC by car.

-One fan hates the Wild. Maybe a unicorn killed his mother or something like that, because seriously who hates the Wild?

-Crosby > Ovechkin Wait, that's not a fact? Well that poster can hate us now

haha, I was reading the Caps GDT and I laughed when I read that. I really wonder why he hates the Wild. You probably have the true reason Gopher!

Also, Canucks fans probably hate the Wild.

You have to watch out for those unicorns. They'll cut you up good.

Colton Gillies is "fired up and ready to go." I didn't peg him for an Obama fan, but it does tie together with playing Washington.

I'm sorry, but if you're a Wild fan who doesn't know there's another Backstrom who plays for Washington that's just sad.

Wild post count: 1

Don't know how Schultz and Neuvirth let that pass go across.

Allan Walsh would have converted that chance.

I just turned the game on and saw the Kobasew's goal from Bruno. Did they switch up the lines or was it a line shift? (I only saw the replays)
