The Ducks are as bad as us so I'm really hoping for a win, here. This will be a new new low if we lose. Especially because we'll probably lose the next three (LA, VAN, CHI).
I usually like to take a look at the other team's GDT but they don't even have yet. How sad

The Ducks defence is similar to our own. If the Devils get on them quick there is no reason that the Devils can't score some goals this game. As for the call ups, as long as Eckford plays better then the Bomber kid I don't care. I thought that Eckford should have gotten a longer look in training camp to begin with.

We're 8 games under .500, and even if we get back to .500 hockey that's not even enough to get into the playoffs these days. So no, we're not making the playoffs this year. I never thought this team could fail so much with the guys we have on the team. Lou really messed up with the current roster he has. A big fail to the 2010-11 New Jersey Devils.
The bigger fail is your math based on such a small sample size.
I wish you could bet if teams make the playoffs or not, rather than winning division, winning cup etc.... I'd go all-in on the Devils making the playoffs right now. Buy low, sell high.
question- what would be the point of Fowler being a healthy scratch? if hes not going to play why wouldnt they send him down?
It would be to help him get back into the flow of things. He hasn't practiced or skated much since he got rode into the boards by Doan. It sounds like his neck just came around so they may give him another day or 2 to get back into it before playing. He is our 3rd best dman and is not going to be sent down this year unless he hits a wall later in the season.
Voros will likely be on the 1st line because Beleskey is out with a concussion. Normally Bobby would slide up there but he had a big game the other night and seems to have really good chemistry with Koivu and Selanne right now so they don't want to break that up. So Voros's big body helps that line and he does a good enough job on the cycle to fit in there.
Blake is on the 4th line because he doesn't fit what we need for the 1st line, Bobby bumped him off the 2nd, and with Sexton out as well the 3rd line won't be a scoring line tonight. After Beleskey or Sexton come back he might get a shot on the 3rd line again.
