Anthony Stewart has been a waste of space and an AHL'er besides this season.

He wouldn't even be with Stewart on the first line..

So play him on the third or fourth line... He's big and strong. And a former first round draft pick... He's not a waste of space that's for sure.

I'd take him. I don't care what the stats said before this year, A. Stewart can move, and seems to have finally found his hands this year (or at least been given a chance to show he has some).

I'm not a huge fan of these moves just for the sake of it. It seems the risk of backfiring is too big (one of them is playing and happy while the other is scratched and pissed) compared to the benefits. Just look at the sulky and inconsistent Kostitsyn brothers in Montreal that finally were separated.

If Avs think A.Stewart is a player that would be something they wanted even if Chris isn't here, go for it. But he has to make it here on his own merits.

Personally, I think Anthony has looked great this season. The skating and the shot makes him look a lot like Chris out there.

We already have an Anthony Stewart... Except he's bigger, better, faster, more talented, younger..

oh and his first name is Chris.

Bad idea. If it doesnt work out you got to move him and risk offending Chris.

Naw, Anthony is enjoying a career resurgence in Atlanta, he would likely be marginalized here, not to mention in his brother's shadow. For every brother reunion that works (Niedermayers) there's one that doesn't (Kostitsyns). Why would Anthony want to play a 4th line role here when he's got a shot at playing a bigger role for the Thrashers?

If indeed there was a brotherly reunion I'd be all for it'd be getting Cal O'Reilly to play on our fourth line. Again though he seems to be enjoying himself in Nashville for the time being, so...

And no I don't want Yan Stastny either.

Good point here.

Also, what would we give up for him?

Weren't we supposed to trade for Cal O'Reilly just for the lulz last year?

Don't do it.

I think generally reunions work better when the players involved have the lions share of their careers behind them instead of when players are trying to establish themselves. The Niedermayer reuinion was pretty much zero risk since Ducks knew exactly what kind of player they were getting in Rob.

In a trade? Doubt it would ever happen. If you're trading for a guy just because of a family tie, we're doing it for the wrong reasons...

As a free agent? Yeah I would do it..

Doesn't hurt that one was a forward and one was a defenseman so there was no chance of getting pressured to pair them together or play them on the same line.

I'd rather get Dustin Byfuglien...

He's that rocket from the point the Avs need.

I'd do Shattenkirk+Cumiskey+Stoa+2nd for him.

No lie.

Dear GOD that's a ridiculous price to pay, even if you're more or less writing those three players off, which I hope you're not doing. You kiddin' me? All that for a "rocket" from the point!?

Byfuglien will be exposed this year, just wait. The reason he was so effective is because of the talent surrounding him in Chicago. For example, 78% of his starts were in the offensive zone. The Hawks were able to utilize him so effectively because they only had to use him in a VERY specialized role. He's a liability everywhere else.

Haha, I knew it would just be a matter of time for this thread to show up since A. Stewart started getting points this season.

Not for the sake of having ManBearPig's bro on the team. Unless he can honestly make a difference and crack the lineup, I don't see the sense of having him on the team.

Yikes. Is it a 100% guarantee he gets a goal with this rocket shot? If not, I'd nix that deal.

Haha...and this is one of multiple reasons why Byfuglien is perhaps the most overrated player in NHL history
