The Devils definitely seem to be pushing the pace. It caused some problems for us in the first, but we seem to have responded better in the second period.

Horrible play by syvret leads to a slap shot from the slot and you blame Hiller?

Ducks are flying after the goal.

Really liking the Marchant line tonight. This one's far from over.

I think we've forgotten what a number one goalie is supposed to play like. That shot was from well above the top of the circles, he needs to make that save. This team will not win when its goalie is outplayed.

I guess we will have to disagree on the difficulty of the shot slap shot from the slot is a great scoring chance. Of course i would like him to make the save but i would say that's too good a shot to give up.

By your posts i assume you're clearly on the Mcbackup bandwagon.

The Ducks can't keep it int he offensive zone at all. One chance and then back out by the Devils.

I'm tired of the goalie making it harder for a bad team to win. Hiller has no problems calling out his teammates in the press and yet seems to give up at least one stinker a game. Its old.

I wouldn't call goal 2 a stinker. Goal 1 was a little weak though.

One goal against the worst team in the league is pretty tough to do. I congratulate you Anaheim, job well done.

ahhh teemu could have had an epic tying goal there... damn.

NJ may be the team in the league with the least amount of points... but on paper they are ****ing FAR from the worst team in the league.. they just refuse to play to their offensive strengths, with a D just as bad as ours...

at least we can't blame brookbank for this one jeeezzze

Typical of the Ducks to lose to the team with the worst record in the NHL. Even in 06-07 when we were actually good we got smoked by the Flyers when they were dead last. The annual trend continues.

I cannot stress enough how much I dislike Syvret as a hockey player. He has a fairly good shot and is ok at skating with the puck and passing. But that's all he can do. He makes dumb decisions, can't keep pucks in on the PP and is terrible in his own end. The pass he attempted that cost us the game was simply ********. I have no idea why Carlyle let him out on the ice after that.

Outside of the first period I thought we dominated and deserved to win. Hiller stood on his head for the entire first period before letting in an incredibly soft goal that tied the game. That seems to be a trend with him.

Marty was lights out. He stole this game...Hiller looked good too, with the exception of the 1 soft goal. We had chances that normally would have went in...tough loss.

I agree, Hiller isn't too blame on the second goal. I also think he's played some pretty good hockey between the pipes this year. However, I also think he's given up goals we're not used to seeing him give up, which is why everyone's being so hard on him. I'm wondering if it's because he knows the starting job is his? When Giguere was around, Hiller didn't seem to let in so many soft ones. I feel like he's a step behind where he was last year.
