Daymond Langkow (Neck)

As per Fan 960, Langkow has suffered another setback in his recovery.

Won't be skating, needs to rest again.

At this point I don't even care if he makes it back, I just want him to be able to have a healthy life. If he could come back it would just be the icing on the cake.

I couldn't agree more. One of those situations where hockey takes a backseat.

Hopefully he shuts it down for the rest of the year.

Try and give it a good go next year.

I don't think he'll be back this season, he needs to put hockey on the back-burner for the time being and get well, it's sad to see such a freak injury possibly end a players career, hope the best for him, and if he never plays again, he still has had a long career, his personal health definately comes before hockey.

After well over year out of the game, and at his extended age, I highly doubt he will be back. I feel for Lanks and his family and obviously this is a tough situation to be in but I have thought for a while now that his career could be done. It was fairly long and he had some great years to remember.

Get well soon Lanks!

I feel really bad for the guy, he is another Rhett Warrener type of player. One of the true warriors of the game that battles hard every night and always played hurt. Its too bad that this had to happen to such a classy guy. Hopefully this does not affect his day to day life like doing things such as playing with his kids. Hockey is a sport to entertain the fans, but a persons health takes priority over everything and you can only hope that he will be ok. With this set back, he should really not even think of trying to play this year. If he does, there is the possibility he may never walk again if he gets re-injured. Just way too high of a high risk to leave to chance. Best of luck to him and making a full recovery!

Hell, his on Ice career might be over, but he is the kind of guy you would give a job to behind the bench maybe, but i am in agreement with all others, he needs to focus on just getting well, and not rushing coming back, if he does decide to try to make a comeback.

He is a classy guy, and I would LOVE to see him wear a flaming C again, but hey, life > hockey.

I think he meant by the time he recovers from this new injury.

Well said. Too bad for the set back and I wish him all the best to a full recovery. That injury still scares the **** out of me, I remember watching that game. Freaky ****.

Are you guys starting to get the feeling Ivanans might be milking this thing? Like really you still can't be active? Not like it matters cause we don't need him, but I'm starting to wonder if he's just loving this year long paid vacation.

Even if Ivanans was healthy he wouldn't be playing at this juncture. It's time to phase goons out, their use now has been reduced to about the first 2 months of a season... It's just the old-school boys that keep this game up of "that team has enforcer so lets put ours in the lineup" anyway. I don't think enforcers are Feaster's thing so hopefully Ivanans is the last the Calgary Flames employ.

Ivanans is a UFA at the end of this year, right?

Exactly. I think he knows that and would rather be sitting at home collecting cheques than to be playing in the minors or waived.

I thinking about this yesterday. It's a concussion, so he can just say that he's still feeling symptoms...

The guy is a 30+ year old heavyweight, probably taken his share of hits to the head. Just don't understand why you sign a guy like this two year contract, after he got knocked out I thought that was the end of his career.

If he can't even be active, there will be evidence of swelling etc, that would be visible via MRI or other voodoo.

Not that he's missed, mind you... I'd bet dollars to donuts if he was able to play, he'd already be in the minors.
