By a hair.

I'm interested to see how Mitchell does on the 3rd. I quite liked Caputi there. Ah, well.

Glad to see Hanson's in, really liked him during the pre-season.
Lineup I hope to see:
Kulemin-Bozak-Kessel
MacArthur-Grabo-Caputi
Versteeg-Brent-Sjostrom
Brown-Hanson-Orr

According to Ken Beckett, he says according to Henny that Caputi is in over Mitchell.

wow that sounds weird

HennyTweets Paul Hendrick
Luca just told me he is playing tonight..looks like john mitchell is not playing.

lol why doesn't anyone see it as Versteeg in for Caputi?!

Hanson in for Zigo is cool, not sure if it makes a big enough difference to care

in Caputi news:

@reporterchris Ron Wilson beat Luca Caputi on some faceoffs this morning. "If a 55-year-old guy can beat you on faceoffs you have a lot of work to do."

Edit: maybe Caputi is in, Mitchell out after alls

Caputi is a significant upgrade over Mitchell in almost every area.

If only that were true and not some kind of hyperbole.

I hope we come off with a strong effort and push the pace, Rangers played last night we should be able to out work them.

lol...come on..

i'm not a "johnny malkin" hater.. i think he's better than most people give him credit for. but caputi is a better option, plain and simple.

caputi was tougher, more physical, in better position, had actual scoring chances, didn't cough up the puck nearly as much and was generally more into the game than mitchell. his performance far outweighed mitchell's in the preseason as well.

if the game were a one-on-one shootout format, i'd want mitchell. unfortunately there's more to the game than that.

That's a bit of an overreaction. All I'm saying is that if Caputi was significantly better than Mitchell that would solve a lot of problems but they are basically the same player.

Caputi over Mitchell and its not even clo-- haha just kidding its kinda' close, but Caputi is the better choice for now. I REALLY like our line up. This is an important game (for me anyways) this is the exact roster I wanted to see coming out of preseason.

Seriously though, GDT?

I think the biggest difference between Caputi and Mitchell is Caputi hasn't had the chance to disappoint. I'm not saying he will, but we've seen what Mitchell has done.

I remember reading how Grabo would constantly challenge Wilson to faceoffs in practice last year (or was it two years ago...) and Wilson would usually win, but Grabo kept coming back for more.

May be doing wonders for Grabo, whose faceoff % over the last 4 years has been 33.1 (with MTL), 44.5, 49.8, and 51.8.

Kulemin - Bozak - Kessel
Arthur - Grabovski - Versteeg
Caputi - Brent - Sjostrom
Brown - Hanson - Orr

Kaberle - Schenn
Beauchemin - Phaneuf
Gunnarsson - Komisarek

Giguere

does that look right, according to what you guys have heard/read?

if so, i'd personally like to see Hanson and Brent swap spots, and maybe even Sjo and Brown swap...but good enough.

In case any of you Johnny Mitchell enthusiasts are interested ..

Mitchell's career record verses the NYR is 8 games 4 goals 4 assists 8 points.

So he is a PPG player verses the Rangers and thus one of our more effective players, likely a main reason that he is playing tonight.
