Honestly? I don't mind Eminger. Where does this pure hatred of the dude come from? What am I not seeing? He's no top pair D by a long shot, has taken himself out of the play here and there throwing a big hit and has taken bad penalties, but cmon! His positioning is decent and I really like his physical game. Everyone here *****es and moans about (everything) being more physical. He's certainly done that. After maybe the first 2 games where he looked lost, I think he's settled in and played fairly decent 3rd pair D. Those interference penalties are bad news though.

I agree.. Eminger is a fine 3rd pairing NHL defenseman. That's it. Not sure why he is getting all the blame for things. He has NHL experience, can skate and has an edge to his game. For a 3rd pairing defenseman this is not bad at all.

Frustrated that Sauer isn't in. But Eminger has been okay of late. Whatever.

I think the *****ing and moaning has to do with Eminger playing over Sauer when Sauer did nothing to warrant him a healthy scratch. Personally i like how Eminger plays...he stands up alot on the blueline doesnt allow an easy entry, he just needs to not take those interference penalties and have trust in his other dman...I think gilroy has been the least effective of all our dmen

I think you are right.

The more I games I see Eminger play, the more he reminds me of the overrated and former fan favorite Paul Mara. They both have an edge to their game and are physical but are prone to taking bad penalties. One would think that the Mara fanboys would go gaga over Eminger, but he's been relegated to scapegoat status instead because he plays over Sauer.

Girardi and Sauer have been much steadier.

Mara's edge was his beard, he wasn't really a physical defenseman.

Why are people still complaining about Rozsival? He's been playing like a true #1 this season.

And Gilroy was in the top-10 hits of the weeks last week. So he CAN throw a body check. He just doesn't very often.

AND Eminger "hits", but he puts himself out of position doing so, making the "hits", a liability.

We get it. Eminger sucks. He's the 6th D who really cares. Do you think playing Sauer 5 minutes a game is going to make that much difference? The only reason no one likes him is because he isn't home grown anyway. People are still hating on Rosy too when he's been our best D this year. People need to get over themselves.

Gilroy has 10 hits in 7 games. 0 points. 0 takeaways. Even Tortorella doesn't trust him enough to play against scoring lines.

you are the one watching games with rozy glasses on, he is playing better than last season, but very far from stellar. -3, only 14 hits, 5 bad minor penalties, numerous times he looks like a deer in headlights.

Yes, he should stay on the roster.

No, he should not stay in the starting lineup.
