Pens don't need him anymore, any team in need of a top 5 fighter? Pens could give him to you for a pick. Now that we know Eng can take on heavyweights and win and play much better, we really don't need him taking up cap space that we could use.
Doesn't apply. Sather isn't a good general manager anymore. Especially considering that the Rangers busted after getting Shelley last year, I don't think anybody is going to pay anything to get an all-fight, no-play enforcer this season.
I'd be thrilled if a team took Godard on waivers. I don't think they would, though. Re-entry might give it a chance, and I really wouldn't mind just paying the 400K or so on his cap hit if he got claimed there.
Just because Chuck Fletcher is stupid enough to trade a draft pick for a dime a dozen enforcer doesn't mean every GM is.
It also doesn't mean that no GM is, and all it takes is one.
Honestly, after the contracts given out to Boogard and Shelley this year, there's no reason to think that there wouldn't be a potential market for an enforcer like Godard with a contract like Godard's.
The guy is a good enforcer. He knows his job and does it. These guys are worthless in the eyes of fans, but there are GM's that believe in having an enforcer and one of those GM's could give up a late pick for the guy. Enforcers have been traded before and will be again.
