Yeah.....

What is wrong w/ McClaren? Do we really need another goon in Woochstcher?

Hey 210, have you had a chance to do your year end review of the Cats?

I'm in the middle of the "year end" right now. I've had a lot of personal issues the last few months so time to dedicate to it has been slim.

The AHL is reducing the number of vets you can dress in a game from 6 to 5 (1 exempt and 4 vets)...McLaren might be the odd man out...

Who or what do you consider a vet? Is it based on the number of games played or based on age of player?

The AHL considers a "veteran" any player who has played, as of the start of the season, more than 260 regular-season games combined in the AHL, NHL, IHL, or any European elite league.

At the start of the season, each team may declare one player to be "exempt" from the veteran rule. "Exempt" players must have played more than 450 AHL games prior to the start of the season.

I thought McLaren was picked up off of wavers earlier in the Blues season.

McLaren has been with Worcester and on the Blues protected list for 3 seasons...all the Blues did was sign him to an NHL contract.

210,

Any update on Ernie Hartlieb? I thought he was having an excellent season and all of a sudden he was in the dog house and played little the last quarter of the season. He was one of the better forwards along with Glumac and then stopped playing.

He is still young so it is surprising. He also seemed to be a fan favorite.

You're thinking of Jeremy Yablonski who was picked up by Nashville after his breif callup. McClaren is still very much a Blue/Ice Cat.

I haven't heard anything about him lately...

Yablonski was on waivers because the BLues released him from his contract.

The plan was for him to clear waivers and go back to Worcester (and later Peoria)...Nashville took him (in a good move IMO) and signed him to a 2 year deal.

Nothing wrong with getting some more toughness down there because as others have pointed out they lost Yablonski last year.
