I swear if we played a season where our top 6 was intact for more than a week at a time...

Everyone that I know that has had knee surgery says that it takes about a year for it to feel 'normal' and then even longer before it feels really strong. The fact that these guys come back from these knee surgeries so fast is mind boggling.

But you also have to remember that these athletes are more fit than the average person.

Throw in the fact that their surgeon's are probably better, as well as the fact as their personal trainers are better as well.

And there you have 3 reasons as to why a professional athlete should recover faster than some random.

Maybe it's a good thing. Spezza should be back soon? This will let them look at the PP some more with Kovalev and Spezza on the first unit. It will also give Michalek some rest.

We're not going anywhere with this injury prone team.

That's the team we have

Alfie and Kovalev are aging players who have had recent surgeries
Michalek two knee surgeries
Spezza has back issues
Gonchar issues the last two years in pittsburgh
Kuba aging player and beginning to wear down
Leclaire is glass

injuries were guaranteed with this team

This sucks, but its hardly as big a blow as missing Spezza.

dammit, dammit, dammit. thats not good. if its still swelling you'd think that has to mean that the knee still isn't happy and there's still something loose/rubbing/chipped/stretched in there. that's something that might take awhile to calm down. this is the last thing we needed right now. another top-6 forward going down.

Yeah I agree. The success of their line the past few games is due to Alfie and Fisher.

And Mike Fisher will always end up with a few nagging groin injuries throughout every season.

I said it in the other topic, Michalek's knees are time bombs.

He needs to see reduced ice time in order to stay in the line-up.

Yeah I think he hasn't practiced in two or three weeks.
But that's why I say reduce his ice time, clearly his knees aren't having a good time.

I would like to see Shannon get some more time while Michalek is out.

Shannon has 4 points - played in 9 games and averages 8 mins a game.

His speed could be a great asset playing with guys like Alfredsson and Spezza/

If you dig a little harder I think you could probably find some more negative things to say about the Sens, you're doing a heck of a job now, but if you just dug a little harder you could of come up with............Lehner has a tendency to get the flu.

Sucks, but the fact that Spezza is coming back makes me feel a little better.
