Claude Giroux

Hey guys, just asking a fantasy question here.
I know Claude is a fantastic player, and is doing really well already, I have an option of picking him up this month, to replace a very slacking, terrible RW (whom shall not be named).
Can we expect at least 60 pts from him? I personally think he can do it from what I have seen, but unfortunately I don't get enough Flyer games here. So I come to ask the pros.
Also how does he fair when it comes to plus/minus? Thanks!

I think 50-60 is reasonable.

Last year he had some big time slump stretches, as well as some hot runs. I doubt we're done with that happening, so I would expect him to come in at or around 60, but it wouldn't be shocking to see him finish in the 50s.

You also assume at some point teams will be conscious of the fact that they can't let him go in on breakaways, but maybe not.

Now that he has been put with some real linemates, I think he can put up 60-70, even if a decent amount of the assists are secondary. Being put with good linemates will increase his points.

Yeah, I wouldn't expect the goals at least to keep up, (I think at least 4-5 have been on breakaways), but he'll still have plenty of assists.

He's been the best player on my team so far this year.

Less than 60 would be very disappointing.

It would represent growth from last year if he hit the 50s... if he pairs that with being a positive, I'd be thrilled.

I would expect him to get ~60 points, possibly a bit less.

I didn't realize he was leading the team in points at the moment.

Remember that he always seems to hit form later in the season, and always gets stronger later in the season.

Half of his goals are from SH breakaways and his shooting percentage is currently over 26 percent...which is almost twice as high as his career best.

So don't expect this scoring to keep up. I think he's likely to score anywhere from 50 to 70 points this year.

11 point in 11 games... he'll get about 70 or 80.

If Giroux starts shooting more he'll have well over 80 points, but if he continues to dish all the time he'll only hover around 60 points, because like others have said, this breakaway/shorthanded goal pace can't be maintained. He needs to start scoring on the PP and ES.

I don't think he's earned the right to have Jody Shelley as a linemate which is, obviously, a prerequisite for that to happen.
