Ryan Callahan should be a career Ranger

This kid is unbelievable. And this is nothing new. He's almost the perfect hockey player. What Joe Micheletti said about him at the end of the second period of the Carolina game was spot on. Every period, every game, Ryan Callahan stands out. Ryan Callahan makes an impact on every single game, and in almost every single case, it's an extremely positive one.

What a player. That penalty shot goal was incredible. He pulled it on a solid veteran goaltender, and he did it after reading overrated Phaneuf like a book, getting pulled down, and still finding Dubi with a great pass for an awesome scoring chance.

Never let this man go.

Callahan is playing amazing this season and I believe the reason is having constant linemates.

In the past they usually played him with stiffs that couldn't score so he constantly shot the puck as soon as he had a chance, from bad angles, it was really counterproductive and killed our offense.

Now he is holding on to the puck longer, looking to make plays and has made some great passes.

Travesty. **** the "business" of hockey when you have a guy like that in your organization. Inexcusable to this day.

Agreed. Hopefully the same mistake isn't made with guys like Lundqvist and Callahan.

Honestly, I've wanted to start this thread for at least 2 years, LOL. I just knew it'd be filled with tons of "way too early" responses.

But you can't deny it anymore. He's a monster player. The guy is a throwback to a different kind of player. He's a warrior. Hardest working Ranger since Graves.

my favorite player since he was a rookie.

as an upstate ny kid who played here for the syr jr crunch ( and whom my son played against in the empire west AAA when he played for the stars and ryan played for the rochester jr amerks) we saw him play many games when he played in guelph with girardi.

i have always said that ryan callahan has the biggest heart in hockey. he cares. hes a consumate pro. and he gives 110% every night.

hell wear the C one day. book it.

Been saying this for a while now, but a lot of people wanted to trade him about a week ago. Future captain, always gives 100%, all around excellent player.

His ability to play as hard as he does every single shift is really incredible. We never get cheated with his effort.

We agree on this one Sting.

Callahan's play says everything about the future the Rangers are trying to build.

Always sound like a broken record, but I love what this guy brings to the table.

Gotta respect the constant effort.

Whatever, man. I've been making posts like this about Callahan for quite some time (like ODC, he's pretty much been my favorite player, with Henke, since his rookie season). But he's not the only guy I have nice things to say about. I'm adamant about my dislike for certain things but I have plenty of positive things to say when they're called for. Either you don't see them or you just ignore them.

I think since the day Gomez got traded (maybe even before that, I don't remember anymore) my avatar has been an homage to the two most positive things about the Rangers.

Agree. The guy is so consistent that I think a lot of fans are taking that effort for granted. We've seen it for over 3 seasons now and its EVERY night. This kid isnt a kid anymore. Hes a professional and an all-time Ranger. If he keeps this up, with the Rangers injuries he could make the All-Star team. Think about that... Well deserved thread and there isnt enough praise for this guy. I just hope he can keep up this type of play because he just does NOT STOP.
