No one said we were winning the championship this year. And Billups is gone after next year, even though I think he will be a big part of us next year. And if you don't think this trade is good for the Knicks your crazy.
It's ridiculous how overrated Mozgov has become in the past 24-48 hours.
I do think he has value as a 7 foot young player. But it is funny that a little over a week ago he couldn't break our rotation, and now he was the key to the trade. I do wish we could have kept him, but I will easily get over adding him in this trade.
I totally agree. He definitely will be/is an unsung hero in an era that HOPEFULLY brings respectability back to NY basketball. Shame to see him go. He really embodied why this team was so likable. Oh well.
Homie, that bench is anything but solid. If Fields was coming off the bench, that'd be solid but he isn't. No one to really spell Turiaf. Not a fan of the bench.
At least they may land a point guard in 2012.
Homie, when they sign Earl Barron, and have Turiaf coming off the bench it is even stronger. They can also have Azubuike back soon hopefully. Don't hate. They have 2 of the best 10 players in the league, with a top 3 rookie, and an experienced, title winning, leader, and still very good point guard. Some good defensive players/Energy players coming off the bench as well.
Maybe this will ease everyones mind. Its on yahoo...
The New Jersey Nets had interest in trying to acquire Felton and maybe Mozgov from the Nuggets for draft picks, but Denver general manager Masai Ujiri said the team will keep all the players it acquired in the deal.
“We are excited about the young guys we’re getting,” Ujiri said. “But we are losing a great player in Carmelo and a fantastic player in Chauncey Billups, a professional and the leader of our team.”
Ujiri has reason to want to keep Mozgov: He’s close with the young center’s agent, Bouna Ndiaye.
