Well thanks for sticking your **** in the water to see if it's cold for the rest of us

I only meant copy editing in that the spacing was off, not your writing at all, probably better grammar than 99% of blogs out there.

1001 was the required class at the U. My shining moment was waiting until a huge comparison paper was due, then watching Planet of the Apes and the remake and BS-ing a commentary on the decline of American intellectualism.

Yeah that's on me. Didn't look at how it formatted into the blog and just copied and pasted.

Oh, well that shows you how ignorant my post was, haha. All of my entry level classes were in the 100s. I wasn't aware that many schools use four digits as well. I figured you were in some crazy upper-level class, being that all my senior classes were in the 400s.

My first college used single digits and decimals.

Psych 101 was Psych 1.0. Next semester was 1.1...

When I transferred to a different college, their numbering was all wonky and confusing.

It was that stupid University of Minnesota

Same as you, 1xxx and 2xxx were lower-level, 3xxx and 4xxx were upper-level, 5xxx and above were grad courses.

I'm currently going to the U, it's odd because I think a class like Calc II (MATH 1272) is much tougher than an Introduction to Statistics class (STAT 3011). So it seems like the 2nd number also has a bit of impact on the difficulty of the class.

Anyway, nice post Jocksta. I'll be writing one up here soon, I really like this idea.

As far as I understand the U, 1xxx is an entry-level undergrad class, 3xxx is an upper-level undergrad class (or something specialized) and grad classes are the same but with 5xxx and 7xxx. Not everything follows the pattern (i.e. my keystone classes as an undergrad were 4xxx), but that's how things worked for the most part.

Loving the tidbits inclusion, Deuce. It's great for my short attention span. Makes it easier to follow when the subject is bouncing around.

Hey, I tried to implement some of those color scheme changes I mentioned above. Cleaned up some of the erratically-colored things like link color and separator bar. Let me know if anything's out of place or ugly; in particular I can't decide if I love or hate the Iron Range Red block at the top. Personally I'm a big fan of the wheat background but I can subdue it or make it pure white again if people prefer that.

I'm looking into the CSS to see if there's a way to make that damned header image center. Update: yeah the CSS is super messy and way over my head right now. I'm gonna have to try putting some images of different widths there and seeing exactly what happens (don't worry; I'll revert quickly!). It seems like it might be a glitch on Blogger's end, so solutions might include trying a new template/image or putting the image header into the HTML/CSS ourselves, rather than using Blogger's built-in header. My personal vote would be to put in a banner that's 860px wide so it would just take up the entire width of the blog and do away with the problem entirely.

I like it...although Gaborik wasn't really a bust.

I wonder if you could do Thelen, Pouliot, and Sheppard with a big "BUST" stamped across their pictures...

Otherwise, maybe do a pic of Risebrough in this manner:

I kinda like the idea of rotating banners...

Gaborik doesn't fit that line at all IMO...

Also, the unicorn again should have gold not pink.

Gaborik is most definitely a first round bust. At least for this regime of the Wild...

He was drafted in the first round. Turned into a valuable player. Walked for nothing. All of that value of a first rounder gone, with nothing in return = bust.

It's also why i chose a picture of him in a *rangers* sweater...

He is not a first round bust, he is a Risebrough lack of trade blunder.

I will nerver agree no matter how you try to explain it, that Gaborik is a first round bust for the Wild.
