Well I guess that's some consolation. I must say, I absolutely love the zombie theme adapted as a TV series. The human interaction component gets so compressed when they're made into movies and that's what usually stops them from being truly great.

Ya, I gotta say the Zombie Olympics or the Zombie 500 wasnt cool. They were running like Gazelles out there tonight. That ruins everything. They need to be slow, but steady, just like Tambellini.

I was thinking that too.

Next thing you know they will be driving cars, taking their zombie families to Walmart or the dollar store.

this show just doesn't do anything for me. I don't understand what is people's obsession with all things zombie related.

Definitely a great show! And I'm not usually one for zombie shows/movies but I'm hooked so far.
Yeah, it wasn't 28 days or dawn of the dead running.

Freshly re-animated corpses should be able to do have some of the same motor skills as normal humans. It's as they start to rot and lose functions where they become slow.

Besides, it's nearly impossible to make a slow moving creature a threat now. Watching how a lot of the characters died in the Romero movies actually gets a little ridiculous.

Yeah it's zombies and make believe but it still doesn't pass the sniff test.

i wasn't a fan of how they *dramatically* changed the storyline in the 2nd episode... the comic is considered to be one of the best comics written for a reason, and they are already making fairly large changes.... the comic does start off slow, so hopefully they were just "amping up" the action for TV in this 2nd episode and get back to following the comic story in episode 3

If I ever get married, I hope that my wife isn't doing a guy I worked with a month or so after she thinks I'm dead.

As a fan of the comics, the TV show is pretty good, but not as good as the internet nerds are screaming. Although I haven't read the 1st couple issues in over 4 years.

It certainly has it flaws.

I thought a few actors were somewhat weak with their line delivery's this last episode (most notably the dude who played Glen). Although I thought the dude who played Merle was great.

Could just be first episode jitters for a few people, hopefully they can find a nice groovehttp://hfboards.com/editpost.php?do=editpost&p=28813982 by the seasons end.

I'll still stick with Breaking Bad being the best show on the tubes for now.

I thought the 2nd episode was fantastic. The series so far is exceeding my expectations.

I never did read the comics (have not bought a comic in probably 15-20 years - though I was a fairly avid collector in my younger days). So I have no idea about deviating from the storyline. I really thought the gore element and/or the suggestion of the gore was going to be far more dialed back than it was for tv. I am really happy with what AMC is letting them do.

I think my only complaint would be I would not mind if it moved a little slower. It is unfolding a little too quickly for me but I think they are trying to get the non-zombie die hards hooked. Also of course that there were are more episodes in this first season.

Hopefully they have a little more freedom with the amount of episodes in the second series. Assuming of course it gets renewed as has been suggested it will be. I wonder how ratings were for this second episode? I would expect a fairly healthy drop off. But the debut episode blew all AMC series premieres out of the ratings water apparently. It sounds like even if it dips by half they will still be in good shape.

I also liked the little shopping mall scene. It felt like a little homage to my fave zombie movie (as I mentioned earlier) the 70s original of Dawn of The Dead.

Maybe when he meets up with old partner on the force. He take his hat (along with some teeth or something).

I am in love with this show so far.

It has better quality than 90% of zombie films that have been released.

I haven't watched a show as its actually happening since The Sopranos, so, its a little weird to not watch episodes as I please as I do when I download or buy dvd boxsets. But, the anticipation is nice.

Great show. Cant wait for episode 3.

Agreed, if a person died through a zombie bite on the shoulder, and then the subsequent infection, I imagine that the body would mostly be pretty intact, at least before rotting sets in. So if that's the case, then I can see these zombies moving pretty fast. The real question is how fast is their brain operating - how fast is the "thinking" process?

For e.g., see object come in sight. Recognize prey as prey. Chase prey down. how fast does the brain go from step 1 to step 3?

My other question is how would zombies do in the wintery climes of Edmonton. There would more of a "refrigeration" process so rotting would occur much slower in the winter, but then trudging through thick snow isn't easy. And how do zombies balance on icy streets or sidewalk? I can't imagine that their motor skills are all that sharp, so i can see them falling down lots. And once zombies fall, the cold weather might make dead bones brittle. Anyways, just my random zombie theories...

They might just freeze solid once it got cold enough.

Yep. Off topic, but World War Z is slated to be released in 2012 with Brad Pitt having a leading role.

Pretty excited, has the potential to be even better than The Walking Dead.

Yes, they do. They have people going around killing them during the winter so they don't have to worry about them when they thaw in the spring, but it's damn hard to find a corpse buried under several feet of snow (at least, I suppose it would be).
