The way some of the defense played last year, my guess is yes.

Didn't most of the writing staff get fired after the first season?

Love the show but I'm hoping the episodes in this season will be more like the very first episode.

Great to hear. I thought there was likely a connection to a hockey site. Can't wait to see Gilbert and Smid in it!

Are you mocking me because this is not hockey related, which the OT in the thread suggests? Or are you just being a hard ass? Doesn't matter either way to me, zombies are a subject that I like, and i particular this series happens to be a good one IMO. I think you should wear your seatbelt and beware of the double-tap

Hopefully we start seeing a few more people getting killed by zombies. It was like 3/4 of the season before we so anyone get swarmed and eaten in the first season.

I'm definitely looking forward to it just because I love the genre but I hope the second season is better than the first.

Thanks to the Mod for moving this. I searched OT: Walking, the walking dead etc and the search didn't come up with squat.

Thanks again

This show started great, true to story line, and then fell flat on its face.
Let's hope the second season is better.

Sounds like they are going back to a storyline from the comic. So excited, read the entire series about a month ago. So good.

I'm purposely avoiding the comic till the show ends. I really enjoy the show and I don't want the comic to ruin my enjoyment of the TV series. There hasn't been a TV show I've liked more than this one.....although Breaking Bad comes pretty close.

OMG I can not wait for season 2.

The first season was awesome, better than I had even hoped it would be when I was following it for months before the show debuted.

Apparently Stephen King and another writer are going to co-write an episode. King has always been a big time zombie fan (apparently King was sent an disc of the first episode, then was begging them for the other episodes before they were back from the lab yet haha). Should be interesting.

Inception is a great movie. I started watching it twice and only got through twenty minutes total. Two fast and confusing, I didn't think I would like it, but patience.... I watched the rest and was on the edge of my seat. I'll probably watch it again this weak.

DiCaprio is putting together some solid performances as of late, choosing some impressive projects. Inception, The Departed, Shutter Island, The Aviator, Blood Diamond, and Gangs of New York are all top notch IMO. There's something for everyone, even for the folks that hate 'Hollywood' releases.
I agree with this completely.

I'm not sure if he makes the movie, or the movie makes him - probably a bit of both (some more than others e.g. Inception). You also forgot Catch Me If You Can, which was quite good.

On another note, relating to this thread, I was just curious - when this guy is under the tank, how did he get inside it with zombies all around?

And speaking of tank, how about them Oilers?

One thing that's unrealistic - it's in America no?

Where are the assault rifles, .50 cals, flamethrowers, and claymore mines?

It seems like everyone hated the second half of season 1, but to be honest, I didn't mind it.

Wasn't a big fan of where they spent all their time in the season finale (I'm being vague so as not to spoil anything for those who haven't seen it yet), but other than that I really enjoyed the show as a whole. If you're into zombie movies, I think you'd love the show - if not, you'd probably find it pretty "meh".

Tanks have an escape hatch in the floor.

I was just looking up the tank they used in Walking Dead so I could find a link to a tech spec so I wouldn't spoil it, but now that you have:

The tank in the Walking Dead is an M1 Abrams. Guess what. The M1 Abrams apparently do not have a hatch on the bottom ((these are relatively newer tanks), because it wouldn't protect them from landmines and apparently the clearance from the ground isn't enough. Older style tanks have hatches at the bottom though, from my 5 minutes of research on the subject.

I really enjoyed the first episode , the rest were good but the first was just amazing . However the graphic novels are so much better , I really hope they follow the story lines from the novels i wouldn't even care if its exactly the same and nothings new to me its that good. Also since this is a thread on zombies anyone who hasn't seen the British mini series Dead Set and likes zombies i highly recommend checking it out i think it was better then walking dead tv show as a whole, just not the first episode .

Actually, I think it's the other way around. Only about a tenth of the show involved any actual zombies. The remainder was a bunch of poorly sketched out stock characters sitting around talking about their feelings.

And yet, it's still better then most other television available to be viewed.

I think that the character interaction is what made the show even more interesting, the show is supposed to be about this band of living humans struggle to survive and everything they will do to survive, the acting wasn't top notch but it rarely is in the Zombie genre.

The "Walkers" are a part of the storyline, not the entire storyline and i personally enjoyed the character buildup throughout the season although a few of the middle episodes were a little stale in between the great pilot and finale.
Based on the trailer, it seems that the Walkers will be more of a focal point in Season 2.

Yes, that's exactly what you want to use when the zombies are attracted by sound, lights and smell.

You sir are officially not in my group when World War Z happens...

Agreed. It's much more fun to watch zombies than be a zombie watching reality shows.
