If the trade makes sense based on "What both teams need now" then they should make a trade based on active roster players and not prospects.
If you look at both of the teams, this might be the ideal trade. Both teams are up against the cap and cannot take on anymore salary. When you trade prospect for prospect (if they are both top rated prospects) you should be able to do the trade straight across because you do not know what a players ceiling will be in the NHL. Both of teams needs in their prospect pool could be met by this deal. It really is a rare case where its a win, win for everyone.

colborne is a really big guy, real big. no player in the flames organization has his kind of size. he has soft hands around the net and has a solid shot. he's been compared to joe thornthon, but colborne is more of a shooter. he's an ok skater considering he's 6'6. he'll get faster as he gets stronger. biggest knock is that he's too soft, he hardly ever uses his size.

as for the trade, the flames have to add another piece. i think colborne has higher upside than erixon and is, at this point, worth more.

Erixon fits the bill almost perfectly
Colborne played wing his final year in college and is playing wing in The AHL.
