Heading to Montreal

Hey guys, I am a Bruins fan and I know I will be hated on this section of the forum but my father and I will be coming to Montreal for the game on 1/8/11. I was wondering where the best casinos / restaurants were around the bell center so we have a good time. Don't worry we aren't obnoxious fans running around bragging,

Thanks!

Have a great time, if you're looking to gamble drink and maybe hit up a strip club you'll have an awesome time. Though I'm not sure if you're THAT close with your father

There's only one Casino in Montréal and it's on Île Ste-Hélène, you have to get there by either the Champlain or Jacques-Cartier bridge. Alternatively you can also get there by bus or by subway.

As for restaurants, it depends of your tastes and budget. You do want to grab a poutine at La Banquise though if you've never had one.

Going to Montreal and not having a poutine is like going to LA and not get shot.

Hahaha. They sound great. We have a small fast food place here in Massachusetts that puts bacon and cheese all over fries but I love gravy so it will be great. I like canadiens fans who aren't rude in a real mean way, I dont mind those die hard fans who won't mind taking the time talking about the history of there team. Will I be killed if I wear my B's jersey in MTL if I just keep my mouth shut? lol

nah you'll be fine. A lot of montrealers are all talk no action. Even if some fans run their mouth at you they wont start a fight, you got nothing to worry about

There's a ton of Bruins fans here and they do walk around town wearing B's jerseys. Especially after a loss to the Bruins :S

Montreal is a peaceful city with very little crime, have fun!

You'll get teased but for the most part in a kidding way. If anyone is rude to you just ignore them but I wouldn't expect anyone would be. There's always a bad apple here or there though

No, Leafs fans are getting it, but not Bruins fans or any other fans. Cause we don't hate Bostonians, can't say the same about Torontonians.

There are actually a lot of Quebec born Bruins' fans so you'll be comfortable with your jersey on. If all Hell breaks loose, start screaming "I love poutine". You'll be ok.

How many of these were not criminals getting hit by other criminals or crimes of passion?

No I didn't miss the

Anyway... I've always felt safe here even in the "worse" neighborhoods and I'm built like a two by four with jello arms.

You'll be fine if you're with your father. The fans only attack young, obnoxious guys.

Not that I live in Montreal, but 34 murders in a city of 3.5 million is a good chunk below the national average. We get close to that many here in Calgary for a city with about 1/3 the population of Montreal.

Last time I was at a game, a guy sat a few rows in from of me wearing a Bruins Chara T-Shirt. He got boo'ed for 2 periods and some guy bought him a habs t-shirt and everyone cheered when he put it on lol

So my guess is no you wont get killed!

most of the murders here are organized crime settling business or domestic husband/wife, boyfriend/girlfriend crimes..

you'll have a great time here! You won't be alone wearing a bruins jersey! Seen plenty of them when I catch those games
