Haha, most Wings fans hate the music at the Joe.

I'm fine with it, partly because I don't care all that much. I'm not watching to listen to music.

I like some of it because I know pretty much all the songs, but for the most part, I don't actually listen to any of it out of the arena. And I get mad because the dude doesn't every have my favorite songs.

The Music is the worst thing about the Joe.

During national broadcasts it is down right embarrassing.

I hate the push button techNO muzak.

And all the lame 80's new wave isn't much better.

Love the Wings, love the Joe...hate their DJ.

could be worse...could have that damn organ playing every game like those folks over in chi. that 'thing' gives me a headache every time. Also, I hate when the Joe's DJ, brings in the CD organ, lol

That is one of my drunken karoake songs. So easy to rock even if you can hardly stand.

Count me in as one of the haters - even if you give Detroit credit for having the (otherwise lame) Journey song as a hommage to the city. For comparison purposes, you can listen to some divine stuff like Motörhead's "Ace of Spades" in some other arenas. And unless it is played in Chicago or Munich, I enjoy "Chelsea Dagger" as well...

Gruß,
BSHH

I agree with that. There's a lot not to like about the Joe, but I've been to so many games that it just feels like home, even if it super corny or obnoxious. I gotta give them credit on 'The Black Keys - Howlin' for You' intro video, I'm a fan of that band and song. That song Detroit '67 by Sam Roberts is pretty good too, they use that once in awhile.

I find it unacceptable that they use that song after EVERY goal. It's reason enough for me to dislike that team.

I agree that it is embarrassing. Old songs we've heard a million times at the Joe. I wouldn't be surprised if they still play that U2 song they did back in the 90s before the games.

The DJ is supposed to be one of the people that get the crowd into the game. Watch a wings game on TV and see how dang quiet the place is. There is no entertainment value to it.

I've been to a handful of Capital's games in the past few years. They sure know how to put on a show and get their fans into it. During commercial breaks or any break more than a few seconds and you get loud, new music. Funny stuff on the scoreboard. Lights flashing. Tons of energy is pumped into that place. Even if you don't like the teams playing, it is fun to be at those caps games.

Last year I went to a Penguins game in Pittsburgh and they played tons of Metallica. I can only imagine who the DJ was there.

I have no idea why they fall back to the same lame tunes like "Pour Some Sugar on Me" by Def Leppard. Really? It's ok if you play it a couple times a season, but of all the tunes out there, why the hell is that one guaranteed to be played every ******* game?

The music at the Joe is a rollercoaster. Its great when they play songs like "Hold Me" after the opposition gets a holding penalty and other songs like that. But the songs they play during stoppages are brutal.

Or "Blister in the Sun" by Violent Femmes EVERY DAMN game? Or that weak "rocked out" version of "Smooth Criminal" EVERY GAME. Painful.

How about NO music or other "entertainment?"

Maybe I was born at the wrong time. I could've been around during the 40's-50's when (I assume) there was none of this crap and I could be a chain-smoking boozer without getting hassled.

Well, didn't the Olympia have an organist?
I'd prefer it.
