Hardest Group at 2011 world championship

how would you rank the groups from hardest to easiest
A: Russia Slovakia Germany Slovenia
B:Canada Switzerland Belarus France
C: Sweden US Norway Austria
D: Finland Czech Republic Latvia Denmark

I would say hardest is A then D then C then B

No, I think D is pretty easy group... other 3 teams are gonna be scared to be confronted with the reigning world champions and they will lose the game in their minds before it starts. Book it.

I would say D is the hardest, both Finland and the Czech Republic are safe bet to be in the quarterfinals and Denmark is way better than the others 13-16 seeds. But teams like Slovakia or the US make it hard to predict, they both can be top four or out of the top eight.

Assuming both Latvia and Denmark play to their skills that Group is going to be insanely hard. I expect A to be the hardest cause I just cant see both of Latvia and Denmark showing up.

C should be a very interesting Group as well.

A hard preliminary group also means easier opponents going into the qualification round plus an increased chance to face a non-elite country in the QF, so I'll take that, thanks.

I expect a more competive Tre Kronor this time around as we have a new coach. I'm sure a lot of players wanna get off to a good start with Marts for future considerations like the Olympics.

Hardest on paper is D, depends a bit on how many Danes they can get from the NHL though. It's not all that likely that Regin and Eller will be available which hurts them.

D is definitely the Group of Death. It has the highest median talent level with no easy/obvious outcome games, followed by A, C and B, although A and C can flip depending on which German and Norwegian teams show up. But hey, it's the Worlds, so we have no clue as to what the rosters will be. The States were one goal away from being relegated last year, where as the Germans, who technically didn't even qualify for the tournament- made it to the semi-finals, so everything is up in the air.

A: Russia should get it easy, Slovakia should edge Germany and Slovenia will have a tough time.

B: Canada got it easy, Switzerland and Belarus id give a bit of an edge to Switzerland, France is the blueberry.

C: Sweden, US a really tough one, slight edge to Sweden cus of the Ice. Austria and Norway, could also be close.

D: Finland, Czech, just as close, and no ice advantage, Latvia, Denmark, should be close.

So Id say , C and D are about equally hard and then A as a bit easier followed by B as the easiest.
