Now that I think about it, the depth in the draft is supposed to suck. So we draft Larsson, take a longshot winger in the 4th and see if he might pan out. Finish the draft with goalies, who are naturally a crapshoot. Boom 2012 season :O

20 GF and 42 GA? What the... how the hell do you do that? No, seriously, how do you give up more than two goals for every goal you score? That's beyond ridiculous.

Oh, and you guys realize that even if we do end up with the worst record in the league (and I don't know how we won't) we'll lose the lottery too, right? What is it, 4 or 5 years in a row that the last place team has won? That streak is going to break at some point...

Lou doesn't really have options on the "something's gotta give" front. You cannot trade members of the slow brigade, the high-priced veterans and Clarkson. There's more Mills-type players waiting in the wings, and not much cap room. Unless THESE players figure out something, this is just going to be a loooong season.

That said, I think the third period was more a product of a team being tired and the Canucks being relatively rested. As usual, I do think it was a closer game than one might guess, but a loss is a loss.

I'm wondering if I'm just old or the only one who realizes the Devils have sucked at scoring for about 20 years now; yes, this blows. Yes, this will get better. And yes, I'm kinda surprised I haven't heard "damn I wish we had Jay Pandalfo" yet.

PLEASE let this team remember what scoring is like.

7 out of 13 games they've scored 1 goal or less. It's completely ridiculous.

Yeah, that's why we didn't have a first round pick in the draft this year. We didn't trade two firsts.

Everyone's calling for a trade, but we are stuck. The Elias/Rolston's of the team aren't going anywhere. Nobody wants them.

Trading Langenbruner/Zubrus isn't going to help us win.

Defending champs get to hand us a nice 4-spot I'm gonna guess and then the team will have a nice letdown game against the Rangers. That would put us right on track of 3-11-1

Sigh. That's too bad. Thought that was one of the better games they've played on this trip. Sedins didn't do much sans the bouncing puck in the third.

Not too late yet. The Flyers had a much worse December last year and look where they wound up.

I agree something needs to be done. I don't want them firing MacLean though. He was planned as the coach of the future and you don't give up on that after a month. If I had my way itd be Langenbrunner out the door, but I've wanted that since May, and I don't think its happening.

Lou already has opened his eyes. At least when it comes to the draft. We've been drafting big, mobile puckmovers recently. Urbom, Gelinas, Merrill, etc. Larsson would certainly continue that trend.

I agree. Unless Chicago is going to trade us Duncan Keith for Brian Rolston, a trade isn't going to help us.

This is a great time to play the defending Stanley Cup Champions who are coming off a frustrating loss.

Oh...... wait........

the Flyers worst record last season was 15-18-3

we'd have to go 12-9-2 to get there. when we haven't even hit bottom yet
