Is that Lou or Conte?

I'd go with Conte.

I agree something needs to be done. I don't want them firing MacLean though. He was planned as the coach of the future and you don't give up on that after a month. If I had my way itd be Langenbrunner out the door, but I've wanted that since May, and I don't think its happening.
At the risk of quoting everyone who's already spoken, I just wish they had Volchenkov and Rolston back to at least sort of look like the team that was planned.

typical devils game:

play pretty good out of the gate; miss some good scoring chances, puck just won't bounce right etc etc

one of our 1,000 rookie defensman makes a rookie mistake and bam 1-0 which is all you need to beat this team

im disgusted, can we get a new training staff as well, this team gets hurt more than anybody

Hey, we're the best at throwing horrible shots on goal! Only 5% of our chest snipes go in!

Like I said, a trade might not immediately help the team but it would start a culture change depending on who you trade. The locker room needs to be stocked with hungry players, not guys in the twilight of their careers with NTC's.

These slow fatcats are the ones who the young guys follow.

I'd rather have the rookies looking up to the Parise's and Zajac's of the room.

What can he do? There's no money, no one will bring back anything substantial.

This team won't get better until this team embraces the fact that PMD are essential to offensive and defensive success in this league. Volchenkov coming back will help, but he does not address the key problem

And with so much money tied up in forwards, I'm not exactly sure if/when it'll ever get fixed.

exactly this team is finished people stop saying maybe this or that the season is all but over as far as playoffs we have to shed salary develop some of these defenseman and young players and get a stud draft

yep, a blowup isn't designed to help this season, it's designed to help future seasons. you get flotsam out of the lineup and bring developmentals (yours and others acquired in trades) to take their place. thus further preparing them to play in the big league. like right now, if this is what we're going to be, guys like Urbom and Tedenby should be in the NHL.

Well, I'm gonna go get blotto. Don't see the point in discussing the same old problems with this sad sack team.

he has to move players to improve our defense. if it means losing a vet forward or 2 to get a defenseman then so be it but something has to be done to shake this whole thing up

i mean even with volchenkov our defense looks terrible

I want Berube, Perkovich and Tedenby to play.

YAY rookie cards! There are going to be more rookie cards than not rookie cards this season

Not really. Corrente doesn't have size and has always been a scrappy player.

All the scoring talent on this team...And they CAN'T score..
Ther is no one on the blue line to get the puck to the forwards who constantly have to go below the goal line to start plays themselves. Under Robinson and Lemaire this was never the case. The Devils played defense to create offense. These guy on defense are not communicating or they are playing under a system not fitting the type of players on the team.
Either way, something has to give before this gets out of hand. The Devils have played 13 games and lost 10. That's 1984 garbage when the team was basically a ragtag bunch of aged veterans nobody wanted with a few real good young players sprinkled in.

Watching MacLean's post game tonight and comparing it to his from the win in Anaheim is hilarious.
